Re: Ownership and Management (These fuckin' guys™)
If there are any season ticket holders who don’t plan on renewing, why wouldn’t they wear paper bags?
Come on people, exercise your rights in public and make a statement. Fuck the Acquilini’s and their piss-poor executive leadership.

"On 23 July 2021, Eriksson was traded, along with Jay Beagle, Antoine Roussel, a 2021 first-round pick, a 2022 second-round pick and a 2023 seventh-round pick, to the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Conor Garland."
This single trade encapsulates our current owners. It was a win now move on a team that really just needed 1 year to dump bad contracts.
Ownership and management must show restraint on getting rid of our current bad contracts, or we will flush this rebuild as well.
Potential Stupid Shit to happen (my Nostre fucking damus moment...)
- buy out Tankenen in 2 years.
- trade Pettersson and retain a shitload
trade DeBrusk and retain a shitload
trade Boeser and retain a shitload
Buy Pettersson out with 10 years of recapture penalties.
Lose Talapia for SFA and run a tandem of Tankenen, injured Demko, and the next guy in the minors who is better that Tankenen, and lose that guy to waivers too. (and still buy out Tankenen)
Trade a bunch of pics n guys for a new #1 center, so he has no one to play with. Give him a big contract, and then choke on the trade returns when he wants out.
Rush Cootes, then flush him for a 4th when he struggles in 3 years.
Extend Blueger for 6 years, with signing bonuses and a full NMC
I am going to stop before my head explodes
* hey Mods, if you delete this post before FishHeads copy it into their playbook, I understand. We want the next GM to have better plans than these ones.

A wrist slittingly depressing post! (Yet oh so accurate)Tciso wrote: ↑Sun Mar 15, 2026 9:54 am TWR

Re: Ownership and Management (These fuckin' guys™)
Just took them a cool 8 years to complete 2/3rds to 3/4s of a rebuild. I hope that you're not suggesting that they were actually intending to rebuild. Felt a lot more like a management group that stumbled upon a lot of top 10 picks despite desperately trying to make the playoffs every year. They hit on some, whiffed on others and despite having some promising young players the team was sputtering.
I'm not a fan of the current management group but I don't hold the Benning group in any higher regard.
That's two terrible management groups in a row.... will ownership ever learn to stop meddling or give up and sell the team to a more competent ownership group? One can dream.

Arguably 3 if you wanted to dig deep enough.

Realistically you might as well keep going right back to the beginning. That's what 0 cups gets you
(Although I'll cut Pat Quinn a break since they were a Lafayette post away)

The Lafayette post thing always stikes me as odd.
I mean I kinda get it but it's not like it wins us anything.
I think Burke did us well.

They were all over the rags in the 3rd like white on rice. Gregson the Dirty called a phantom penalty that gave them enough of a breather to survive. It was right there

Yeah sure.
Momesso said the same thing.
Maybe.
Maybe not.
Canuck fans talk about that post like it would have won us a Cup.
Not the case outside of assumptions.
Edit....I imagine the league, like 2011, preferred a NY win.

Re: Ownership and Management (These fuckin' guys™)
Seems like paranoia.
Facts like Boston not getting any penalties called for obvious infractions, and the Canucks getting longer suspensions than what appears reasonable, or Chicago, New York Rangers New Jersey, and New York Islanders having the most luck statistically in the draft lottery, doesn’t mean there is a league wide conspiracy for big market American teams to get favourable results.
That’s just silly.
