I agree, Megs Ryan.

To me, it's akin to having a Celebrini or a Bedard available but selecting the guys that came after. Yes, they're good and will have fine careers, but they're a notch below, IMO. We're in the cyclic window where the best Canadian prospects are clearly at the top, which I will also put McKenna and even Verhoeff in.

The comparison of "ceiling" is like comparing a 5-star hotel lobby vs a East Van basement suite.

I've already given examples countless times that elite, play-driving wingers are as valuable as elite 1Cs. That's just how I feel about it.

Of course, it's all hypothetical unless we win the right to determine the outcome and not be in a spot to be a domino piece that is forced to take the next BPA. But if you are finally smiled upon by the HGs, it'd be insanity to keep doing the same thing and expecting a different result. 56 years and counting...

It probably goes without saying (but I'll say it anyway) that I'll be tossing all but the jersey I wore to my (second) wedding if they pass on McKenna or Verhoef in favour of another Swede.....I'd toss that one too if the wife would let me.
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

What if...Stenberg IS an elite, play driving winger?

Maybe then you can feel better about that instead! (Because you know they're taking Ivar)

The implications are that there are levels to this elite shit... are you just glossing over this fact? I've said this many times.

I hope Ivar has a sturdier frame than two of the current Swedes we drafted in the 1st round... because neither is elite nor can they even drive a zamboni, much less drive play.

This kid is a prodigy who is approaching both Sedin brothers' numbers as a draft eligible prospect. He's more than pretty good

Does he have an edge to his game?

I like McKenna’s attitude and swagger, does Stenberg have that?

EP a la Datsyuk.

Stenberg like Kucherov.

His wife a lean and mean sex machine babe.

All Swedes.

You see a pattern here?

If these guys aren't fired and, they draft the Swede over McKenna, I'm afraid it really is hasta la vista this time. That's my red line.

I didn't say the kid isn't good. I said there are levels.

I suppose EP was a prodigy too?

Look, I'm just tired of the same old for more than half a century. Same old owner, same old business plan, same old these fucking guys, same old SHL prodigies... how about some fucking change? Something different for once? How about that?

Yer being a little hard on the beaver Ward... Ivar Stenberg is not EP40 no matter how mad you are at him.

Stenberg can hang onto pucks with someone draped over him better than McKenna can right now. Will it always be that way? Who knows but I'm not throwing in the towel based on one lazy cunt of a man (who happens to be from the same country).

They aren't clones from the north ya racist bastards!

3-4 months ago I was in favour of Sternberg. But it took awhile for McKenna to adapt to college hockey. He has since come on. I was also impressed with his World Junior play. I have slowly come to the side of McKenna but would not be disappointed fi it were Sternberg. While I Like Verhoeff I was not as impressed with him at the World Juniors, but he is young.

So currently my picks would be

McKenna
Sternberg
Verhoeff

I might actually be disappointed if they pick the Dman. Not that I dont think he would be a good pick but because we are so desperate for top six talent.

Verhoeff was just okay initially at the WJ's and saw limited ice time when he first transitioned into the lineup after not starting originally.

Thereafter he was arguably one of their more consistent defenders.

He was also 17 1/2 at the time.

For me....

McKenna
Verhoeff
Stenberg
Lawrence
DeLevering since 1999.

You've licked way too much Ikea meat balls, mang.

Which 18 year olds, and especially ones coming out of the SHL, can hold on to pucks with grown-ass NHL men draped all over them? (Ok, that sounded a bit ghay :look:)

Buy local. The Swede is the third BPA for me.
