Non-Hockey 2026 Olympic thread

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

Another Gold.

12 medals.

Team Pursuit Speedskating.

Kind of a cool and exciting event if you haven't seen it.

As always speed skating a productive series of events for Canada.

I really enjoy the long-track speedskating during the Olympics. Started with Gaetan Boucher in 84 and then with all the great ladies like Lemay-Doan, Klassen, Hughes, etc.

Short-track is a little too roller-derbyish and chaotic for my liking. I used to do stuff like that at public skating... until everybody started to yell at me to slow down and stop being a little shit.

Brad Jacob's and team have qualified for curling semifinals ensuring they will take the ice for a medal game.

They have 2 remaining round robin games which could further set seedings.

Currently the foursome is 6-1 behind only Switzerland at 7-0.

Meanwhile the women's side led by world #1 Rachel Homan defeated previously unbeaten Sweden to place themselves tied for 4th overall (the top 4 teams play in the semis).

If they win their last 2 they will make the semis.

Chances are alive for 2 medals in curling.

Jacob's and Homan are good enough to make those golds.
