Yes — the Brock Boeser of the Vancouver Canucks recently shared that his dog, named Coolie, has passed away.
However, I couldn’t find a credible source confirming that this was the reason he missed a game (or took a game off).

Over at Canucksarmy, they are reporting it was the dog.

This reminds me of that Robert Duvall scene in Open Range

Fake, but I do believe that Mr Aquilini has issued forth a commandment that draft picks and prospects be surrendered in pursuit of that last wildcard spot in the conference.

Yup, and sadly, this ain’t far from the truth. It’s been their motto since pretty much day one from when they purchased the club.Megaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Sun Oct 26, 2025 10:19 amFake, but I do believe that Mr Aquilini has issued forth a commandment that draft picks and prospects be surrendered in pursuit of that last wildcard spot in the conference.
The mushy middle lives on in Vancouver

Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26
The 26 1st simply cannot be offered in a trade. With their average at best play to start the year it could end up in the top 10 where I'm pretty sure there will still be future potential legitimate difference makers.
Zacha would be a fine addition for something like that fake trade proposal but the booins likely want a better asset pack coming back, either Willander or the 1st. For me that's too rich.
Maybe if they include big Zed for an overpaid underperformer (Kane...Debrusk?)

If the season ended now the Canucks would be picking 8th OA. Getting a good prospect there. Should we continue at this trajectory?

Are you asking if we should kind of sort of "tank" so as to enable us to follow a more Jeff Gorton/Kent Hughes/Martin St. Louis model?
Or just leave the team as it is with zero player movement because what you see is what you get and picking top 10 is inevitable?

Tank, it’s a good class. Would love to be in a position to get lucky on the lottery roll for the 1st OA. McKenna not intrigue you?donlever wrote: ↑Sun Oct 26, 2025 2:23 pm Are you asking if we should kind of sort of "tank" so as to enable us to follow a more Jeff Gorton/Kent Hughes/Martin St. Louis model?

I'm not averse to the discussion dude.
But the conversation becomes more broad based dynamic then as it likely includes moving Hughes.

Speaking of Hughes, he doesn’t seem like his usual self right now. Still early, but I’ve seen much better versions of Quinton. Too early for alarm bells

So we will revisit this down the road perhaps.

Distracted by all the media talk surrounding his next contract? Or one foot out the door already and wants to be healthy with gas in the tank for a playoff push with New Jersey at the trade deadline?Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Sun Oct 26, 2025 3:40 pmSpeaking of Hughes, he doesn’t seem like his usual self right now. Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..
