Well if the offers were trash like Alvin has stated then why wouldn't he keep him for a run? What's a 3rd when you're in the thick of a playoff chase?

I dunno...I personally think BB is worth exactly what he's making right now and no more. He's non-physical and slow of foot. What's that worth? Way less than 7

Combined equity I guess, sometimes that 3rd can be the leverage needed to finalize a trade.

Or, conversely, sometimes a Brad Marchand or Brayden Point may land in your lap in the 70's or 80's.

The rest of your post?

Completely agree.

**also, not sure I entirely believe what Allvin is spinning here. Boeser has displayed positive playoff chops during his career. Why would a team looking to win a Cup not add a goal every 3 game scoring threat where possible?

League history is replete with like events.

Another factor is the prime directive will be to keep our Norris winner believing the team wants to win. Shipping out his friend and the teams top scorer in the thick of the hunt stanks

What's the over/under on Hughes being here beyond his current contract?

Remember, D-Petey was a 3rd.

Quinn Hughes could give a fuck tho. He wants to win and not wait 5+ years for that pick to maybe turn into a depth oiece

The team needs to do whatever it needs to do to utilize this opportunity we have with a talent like this. If that means hanging onto an expiring contract or moving futures to get there then I'm all in. We may never seen another talent like this in our lifetimes

Which is why I said a 3rd could theoretically be an asset that turns a trade your way for someone that makes Quinn happy happy happy.

So, therefore, a worthwhile endeavor to acquire.
