Highlight of that game was Perry's stick.

He's making the league minimum. Undrafted, undersized and closing in on 500 games. Local kid and by all accounts a good person and teammate. The hate here (and only here) is pretty bizarre. He's a 6/7 D living his dream. Strange guy for a few fans to constantly throw shade at.Cousin Strawberry wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 6:06 pm Then you see that defense on the other side and feel a lot better
Blobs crush tiny troy will be coughing up pucks under pressure all season long in their top 4 (if he sticks...sure hope he does)

I just remembered who the first guy I ever came across was that touted Stecher when he was an undrafted defenseman at UND. It was Mark Seidel, the guy Jeff Marek was feeding draft intel to. I used to follow Seidel's twitter account back then and he was banging the drum loudly that whole season for this local kid, a 5'10" undrafted defensive defenseman. I was quite pleased when we ended up signing him, had visions of Mike Weaver.Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 9:41 pmHe's making the league minimum. A few comments;
Better and faster than I expected but when the lil'trojan is the best of the Oiler D it is awfully telling.
Juuls continues to impress for the starting six. I like the way Deharnais throws things towards the net without hesitation. The tip ins will be there. Friedman is solid, but I see no upside to him.
I am troubled by the lineup for this game as the guys that suffer are the CoHogs, Sherwoods and Heinens needing to develop chemistry in the middle of the lineup.
Is Scooter Boy ready?
Did Raty out play Aman?
Had to look up shootout eligibility, I was under the impression the squarehead was ineligible because of his penalty - not so. Only if it was a 10 minute major or game misconduct.

I think Raty has earned a spot on this team. Perhaps it may in part depend on Bluegar’s health? Raty has improved in all areas of his game and he has an above average shot. I hope they find a way to keep him. But if not, playing 18-19 minutes a night under Malhotra will only help his game.
I think Friedman has out played Juulsen by a country mile. Juulsen still gets out of position too much looking for that big hit. He gets running around a lot. But he has been solid on the PK. Friedman has been a steady 5-6 guy. And he has shown a nasty streak this preseason. Mind you I won’t miss either one.
DPetey definitely needs seasoning. But he is not close to being our worst ever prospect. He has warts. But he also showed a pose for a young kid. I think he is at least 2 years away. Don’t rush him.
I hope the Canucks are killing it in practice because we failed, imho, to help the new guys develop chemistry and failed in getting the lines rolling. We will see I guess once the season starts.
More confident now that we can hold the fort in net while Demko learns how to play through his latest boo-boo.
I’d say I was looking forward to the start of the season but I won’t be here and won’t be back until mid Nov. Down Under is calling!! I hope Friday’s game gives me confidence in this years version of the team. I leave Saturday so it will have to hold me over for a bit. Need I remind you all that game day thread needs to be clear so I can follow along.

I share your thoughts on Raty. Just want to add as we don't have the full info on injuries, if Raty is making the the opening 12, even if that's centering the 4th line, I'm all for that, but if he's making it as the 13th forward, I'd rather they send him down and give 13th to Aman. Maybe we'll get some more info in the coming days based on how they practice/etc.Hockey Widow wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2024 9:50 am I think Raty has earned a spot on this team. And the powerplay which fell off a cliff last year! - they havn't played one time together in an actual game yet.. not sure how they will get that rolling to start the year.Hockey Widow wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2024 9:50 am I hope the Canucks are killing it in practice because we failed, imho, to help the new guys develop chemistry and failed in getting the lines rolling. RAW2 should be the 13th forward over Aman IMHO.
He's earned it, and should receive as much icetime as he warrants.

I mean he's been traded twice for 7th round picks, how good can he be?Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 9:41 pmHe's making the league minimum. Undrafted, undersized and closing in on 500 games. Doesn't piss me off. Just find the hatred weird. Just like the dry humping of Sbisa, Gudbranson, and anyone acquired by Elms. Same folks choose to light up an eyesore of a US politics thread....most of them hardly dip a toe in the country. Is that to piss me off too? Because I rarely read it. It's unreadable.Strangelove wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2024 5:41 pmI mean he's been traded twice for 7th round picks, how good can he be?Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 9:41 pmHe's making the league minimum. Stecher is a scrub. I've always said he's a 6/7 d man. But I'm not into de railing a thread. There are many here far better than me at that.
Good effort by their younger scrubs. Spring should have went head high on Skinner with a slap shot in the SO.
Lankinen looked solid.
