No - I just hate all the fucking people that have been comparing Canucks to messier lately. There's been a little too much of that shit going on. I don't want to start banning people, but if they're just going to post stupid shit.....

The way he keeps improving he could really be something special. It looks like another home run draft pick by this regime.
Could be and I like the fact when I read up on him, Hoglander, Rathbone, Woo and some of the longshots like Focht, Keppen, Lockwood, and Gadjovich attributes like playing with an edge and their competitiveness are consistently mentioned. They'll have to replace the veteran bottom sixers in Beagle, Sutter, and Roussel and backfill the PK duties soon so hopefully they can do some of that in-house.

Ok, so I need to be super serious...

I try and keep threads to threads...

.. I stay out of Skyo’s ‘smoke crack and trade people thread’
.. I don’t do comments in Gomers (Gohmert’s ) ‘every link on the interweb’ thread...

... why are we antagonizing my Messier hate here??? Why can’t I hate him in private? I am triggering, thinking about post offices, tall towers and AK-47s

WHY CAUSE ME THIS ANGUISH?!??

I don't get it either, MCP - some people just want to see the world burn...

It's not like this thread about "Young Guns" has enough subjects for conversation to keep it going on topic.

The Podkolzin keeps looking more and more like a steal at 10th. A lot of teams are going to regret not picking him, what a player.

Höglander has played two preseason games this week. A goal in the first, a goal and assist in the other.

This is the goal from the first game:

Top 3 talent wise, excellent pick. Same with hoglander. I also wonder if Lockwood is gonna be our next motte.

Lockwood is an energy player, has a high motor with exceptional skating and compete level, tends to play bigger than his size which gets him in injury troubles. Definitely a lot of potential to be an excellent bottom 6 player

All 4 of Pod, Hog, Lock and Lind have some piss n vinegar and compete to their games which bodes well for playoff hockey

Not gonna lie...

I was pissed that ANA took Zegras one spot before us. I was hoping JB would take Soderstrom because

1. He fit an organizational need. We don't have a top RD prospect. RD are like gold. I am a big fan of Soderstrom's game. I think he'll be a good one for PHX

2. A big flag came up for me since Podkolzin dropped so many spots. I know, even though he was rated #3, it was the old "he's Russian" drafting bias.

But watching this kid develop, I'm super excited. I honestly think he can step in right away in the NHL and develop on the bottom 6 next season.

He dropped because of the Russian factor. He was generally regarded as the 3rd or 4th best prospect in the draft. Combined with him being Russian and Teams ahead of us targeting D-men - Detroit - Seider and Edmonton - Broberg. Not hearing good things about Broberg, apparently it’s between the ears with him, sounds like a Virtanen

Zegras is a good player but he’s a smallish centre (6’ - 170 lbs) which we didn’t need. IMO Podkolzin will be better than Cozens and Turcotte. A little early to judge Hughes and Kakko but they both didn’t have very good rookie seasons. Byram who knows. The top 10 of 2019 was very good which benefited us, we were picking right before that tier group ended.

Soderstrom looks very good, would not complain if we had him, looks like the Stars have a beauty in Harley and the Sens have a good one in Thomson but other than that wouldn’t want anything else who was drafted after Pod. In fact Pod was the best pick at 10th. Boldy had an awful season
