If the NHL goes this route, Canucks pick would be #17.
So, what are the odds that the Canucks get screwed at the draft? I mean Luongo level screwed. First, we miss the playoffs due to overall points, but then we get ranked 15th for the draft and just miss the lottery.
The Cup is soooooo ours!!!!!!!

I would say the worm has turnt in vancouvers favour.

The lottery "losses" that gained us Pettersson and Hughes have proven that winning 1OA means pretty well zippo unless its a Crosby/McDavid/Lemieux type of talent at the top.

That said Lafrenyay looks to be one of those so....fuck it back to the bubbler

I prefer a "half full" opinion.

By missing the lottery, for the first time we will not be sliding down the draft order by the maximum number possible.

Yeah.. nice to be in a position where the league can't fuck us for a change.

If we are being awarded the 2020 pick we will be picking in the mid teens somewhere, as most would agree. Perusing the draft rankings on the www I like a few D-men in this order:

Wallinder - 6’-4” 200 lbs LS
Guhle - 6’-3” 190 lbs LS
Schneider - 6’-2” 190 lbs RS
Barron - 6’-2” 190 lbs RS
Poirier - 6’-0” 190 lbs LS

These are the D-men who are consistently ranked from 15th to 25th

What says you, BC hockey player loving fan - Doyle Hargraves?

Who of these 3 Canadians do you think will be the best? Bedard, Wright or Lafrenierre? My order as follows

1. Bedard
2. Wright
3. Lafrenierre
1. Wright
2. Lafreniere

3. Bedard

BC has had some tremendous players.

Kariya
Neely

Niedermayer
Weber

I mean obviously he’s talented but Wright was one of the better players in the league on a rotten team with Kingston. He has a real good chance of playing in the WJHC twice before he’s drafted. No chance Bedard pulls that off. There’s that other kid with duel Finnish and Canadian citizenship, he will be a beauty as well.

Lambert. But I think he is leaning to the side of the Finns. Matthew Savoie is good player too (2022 Draft Class) making up the big four with Wright and Lambert and the American - Maddox. The 2022 class looks awesome

Bedard (Regina Pats) because of his recent Exceptional Status and Savoie (Winnipeg Ice) will be facing off against each other as rookies next season in the WHL if and when hockey resumes, both playing in the same Eastern Division. That will be fun to monitor. Curious to see the chemistry between a Peyton Krebs and Savoie next season. I’m assuming they will be on the same line, Savoie a right shot centre and Krebs a left shot LW/C.

Another BC player to watch for is Centre Kent Johnson, playing in the BCHL, committed to the University of Michigan. Currently ranked 3rd overall for the 2021 draft class behind the Finn Raty and the American D - Power. Johnson is considered the the best Canadian in the 2021 Draft Class. Put up insane numbers with the Trail Smoke Eaters this year with 41 goals 60 assists in 50 games as a 17 year old. Decent size as well - 6’-0” 170 lbs and I assume still growing

From Yahoo sports so take it at face value.

Not sure how this can be done, just end the damn season and if you want playoffs get it ramped up for June.

Ah, fuck it. Who wants an asterisk cup win anyways. We weren't trending all that well and I would suggest the Canucks may have finished out
by 2 or 3 spots.

We get a first!!!
