I know the buzz is on with Brogan Rafferty right now but the canucks have an almost equally impressive talent stewing at Harvard in Jack Rathbone. I was able to check out his beanpot game yesterday and the kid might be a decent left sider soon for the big club.

He can skate I'll tell ya. Very good prospect

Here's a summary of where Rathbone is at right now- looks promising, and might need a year or two in the A.

I've been reading some good things about this guy as well. He sounds a bit like Q.Hughes 2.0, good skater, smallish guy, offensively talented, etc. Considering we already have Hughes, Rathbone is the type of guy I wouldn't mind using as a carrot for another team to take on Eriksson. Right now, I really wouldn't want to move Shotgun & the Hockey Gaud.

5’-11” 190 lbs isn’t exactly small in today’s NHL

Yeah, true. Unless the guy is Q.Hughes, I like my D-men to be 6'2+, 200+ lbs, especially going into the playoffs. That's why I kind of see Stecher as the weak link on our D-core right now.

Stecher became the weak link when he decided to try and be something he's not. He's not a top-4 puck moving dman. He's a small, all-around, blueliner with above average skating ability. He lacks the chops to skate it out under pressure however, and he's been trying to.

I think he's gripping the stick too tight right now on top of it all. It's a tire fire out there when our third pair is on the ice under pressure.
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

Rathbone is an excellent skater and has a high IQ, he’ll be fine. I believe Yannik Weber was 5’-11” 190 lbs

Hughes re-takes the rookie scoring lead last night.

How many points does Hughes need to win the rookie scoring race by in order to win the Calder?

Quinn's on pace for 63 points in 81 games, 21:37 toi and currently sits at -4.

Makar missed 10 games, and is on pace for 67 points in 74 games, 20:40 toi and currently sits at +9.

IMO, Quinn needs to match Makar's points per game, which would mean beating him by 7-8 points at least - more likely he needs to out-score Makar by 10 points to get the trophy.
