You anti-cappers should do your own math instead of looking for the sky to fall.

Doc is right. We might not have "loads" of cap...

10 forwards
Louie- 6
Brock- 5.75
Bo- 5.5
Miller- 5.25
Sutter- 4.35
Pearson- 3.75
Ferland- 3.5
Roussel- 3
Beagle- 3
Petey- .925

4 d men
Edler- 6
Myers- 6
Benn- 2
Hughes- .917

One goalie
Demko- 1.050

15 guys on the roster. Need 7 skaters and a goalie.

Dead space to:

Roberto- 3.033
Spooner- 1.033
Sven- 2.3

At total of 63,508,000 approximately on the books for next year. Hughes and Petey are due some sizeable bonuses that could tripple their contracts. Virtanen and Gaudette need to be re-upped( 3 and 1.5 seems conservative for them).

Marky and Tanev will want between 5 -6 each then you still need another two D men and two more forwards. I don’t see it.

Nice work, Doyle--takes a lot of work. Figures are tedious.

Ya! it's tighter than (lots of things). I guess the questions are---who gets resigned, who is let go by the wayside and what gets put in their place.
For what it's worth----It's my gut feeling Markstrom can go four more years at this level, so, ......

There is no doubt there will be guys promoted from the farm. Think that's the plan.

BUT One good defense man could help. That;s the hard one . We do need to move on from Tanev.

Curious how much do people think Tanev and Markstroms “raises” will be. Not current of projected salaries but his more do we expect them to get over their current cap hit?

Tanev around 6, marky in the 5+ neighbourhood.

They will both make between 5 and 6. How much depends on term.

Probably true Doyle, but I have my doubts that it will be on the same team.
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

That’s what I figure. But then we were told the team would have loads of cap space.

Bonuses for Hughes and petey top out at a total of 1.8 more. Brings you to 65.3 mil.

If Tanev and Marky get 5.5 each, you have spent 76 million. Need a couple defenceman (rafferty and a bench warmer, both ELC), and 3 forwards (mcEwen, Lind, hoglander, madden, etc, also all ELC). That's another 5ish million.

New total is about 81-82 million. If the cap goes to 85 million, we have between 3-4 million of cap space to improve.

Can you see it now?

Thats not too bad at all then. We could easily pay both Marky and Tanev 6 and still have room

That's about as believable as Doc saying he doesn't wear socks while perusing the CCiverse.
