Agreed.Aaronp18 wrote:This is pure dribble and I am in complete disagreement.damonberryman wrote:The leaves are not going to win the Cup this year but they sure are looking improved. If van cannot bring the Cup home to Canada than let Toronto or Montreal etc, do it. I know I will be cheering for it.
If every other team in Canada never wins a Stanley Cup it'll be too soon.

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread
I went to school with Cliff Ronning and while he had a thick neck and was strong as an ant - I remember him schlepping a massive tube tv around the halls looking for a place to plug into the playoffs, carrying it like it was just an armful of groceries - he didn't look musclebound. So maybe slim guys are actually plenty strong for hockey.micky107 wrote:Ronning was short but he was built like a brick shit-house. Solid, muscular..Kenji wrote:I don't watch the Leaves so I don't know, but maybe they are able to elude hits or at least not take damage. They have always been slim guys, presumably they have encountered physical play before. Cliff Ronning had a long career, thanks to good line combos (Sandlak and Momesso were moving shields for him), quickness, and lacrosse training.Strangelove wrote:I see a lot of players passing up golden opportunities to finish hits on weenies Marner + Nylander.
We could use a supertalented weenie. I wouldn't mind having that Johnny Hockey on the Canucks.
I don't remember the Canucks getting any licks on Johnny Hockey when we were last in the playoffs.
It's not that I want smaller forwards it's just that I want the team to gamble draft picks on the player who gets points over the player who is taller and safer. Average players can be got through trade.

I love the two headlines at TSN. "leaves desperate for help on defence". Lamoriello says "the price is too high for a top 4 D-man". LOL! Hey Lou we could have told you that a long time ago.

They have the top 2 rookie scorers in the NHL and 6 of the top 15. They are obviously screwed with no future.RoyalDude wrote:I love the two headlines at TSN. "leaves desperate for help on defence". Dude the Laughs sucked for so long they should be good. But having the prospects and players does not equate to winning and especially winning the cup. Just ask Washington.
