If you happen to see the Bill Clinton five minute TV ad for Hillary in which he introduces the commercial by saying he wants to share some things we may not know about Hillary's background, beware as I was there for most of their presidency and know them better than just about anyone. I offer a few corrections:
Bill says: "In law school Hillary worked on legal services for the poor."
Facts are: Hillary's main extra-curricular activity in 'Law School' was helping the Black Panthers, on trial in Connecticut for torturing and killing a 'Federal Agent.' She went to Court every day as part of a Law student monitoring committee trying to spot civil rights violations and develop grounds for appeal.
Bill says: "Hillary spent a year after graduation working on a Children's rights project for poor kids."
Facts are: Hillary interned with Bob Truehaft, the head of the California Communist Party. She met Bob when he represented the Panthers and traveled all the way to San Francisco to take an internship with him.
Bill says: "Hillary could have written her own job ticket, but she turned down all the lucrative job offers."
Facts are: She flunked the D.C. bar exam, 'Yes', flunked it, it is a matter of record, and only passed the Arkansas bar. She had no job offers in Arkansas, 'None', and only got hired by the University of Arkansas Law School at Fayetteville because Bill was already teaching there. She did not join the prestigious Rose Law Firm until Bill became Arkansas Attorney General and was made a partner only after he was elected Arkansas Governor.
Bill says: "President Carter appointed Hillary to the Legal Services Board of Directors and she became its Chairman."
Facts are: The appointment was in exchange for Bill's support for Carter in his 1980 primary against Ted Kennedy. Hillary then became chairman in a coup in which she won a majority away from Carter's choice to be chairman.
Bill says: "She served on the board of the Arkansas Children's Hospital."
Facts are: Yes she did. But her main board activity, not mentioned by Bill, was to sit on the Wal-Mart Board of Directors, for a substantial fee. She was silent about their labor and health care practices.
Bill says: "Hillary didn't succeed at getting health care for all Americans in 1994 but she kept working at it and helped to create the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) that provides five million children with health insurance."
Facts are: Hillary had nothing to do with creating CHIP. It was included in the budget deal between Clinton and Republican Majority Leader Senator Trent Lott. I know; I helped to negotiate the deal. The money came half from the budget deal and half from the Attorney Generals' tobacco settlement. Hillary had nothing to do with either source of funds.
Bill says: "Hillary was the face of America all over the World." (LOL)
Facts are: Her visits were part of a program to get her out of town so that Bill would not appear weak by feeding stories that Hillary was running the White House. Her visits abroad were entirely touristic and symbolic and there was no substantive diplomacy on any of them.
Bill says: "Hillary was an excellent Senator who kept fighting for Children's and Women's issues."
Facts are: Other than totally meaningless legislation like changing the names on courthouses and post offices, she has passed only four substantive pieces of legislation. One set up a national park in Puerto Rico. A second provided respite care for family members helping their relatives through Alzheimer's or other conditions. And two were routine bills to aid 911 victims and responders which were sponsored by the entire N.Y. delegation. Presently she is trying to have the US memorialize Woodstock.
Here is what bothers me more than anything else about Hillary Clinton. She has done everything possible to weaken the President and our Country (that's you and me) when it comes to the 'War on Terror'.
1. She wants to close GITMO and move the combatants to the USA where they would have access to our legal system.
2. She wants to eliminate the monitoring of suspected Al Qaeda phone calls to/from the USA.
3. She wants to grant constitutional rights to enemy combatants captured on the battlefield.
4. She wants to eliminate the monitoring of money transfers between suspected Al Qaeda cells and supporters in the USA.
5. She wants to eliminate the type of interrogation tactics used by the Military & CIA where coercion might be used when questioning known terrorists even though such tactics might save American lives.
One cannot think of a single 'Bill', Hillary has introduced or a single comment she has made that would tend to strengthen our Country in the 'War on Terror'. But, one can think of a lot of comments she has made that weaken our Country and makes it a more dangerous situation for all of us. Bottom line: She goes hand in hand with the ACLU on far too many issues where common sense is abandoned.
Share this with everyone you know, ask them to prove Dick Morris wrong. Think about it - he's (Dick Morris) said all of this openly, thus if he were not truthful he'd be liable for 'Defamation of Character' !
And you better believe Hillary would sue him.

P.S. While I am sorry for the implied threat I have never responded well to folks who strike me as passive aggressive. I am of an age where that kind of cloak and dagger stuff is being dishonest. I much prefer the straight up in your face approach.

On another topic I am currently making some extra cash in NY driving cab at night. As a Canadian I came to the U.S. at the age of 40. I have lived here for over 20 years and have run into something that bothers me. I have never thought myself to be racist. I remember seeing my first black guy in Vancouver when I was ten years old. I was getting on the old number 11 bus that went to Stanley Park coming from where I lived at Victoria and Powell. My grandmother who was with me said 'he must be from Seattle' which helped me not at all.

Driving in NY at night as a Taxi driver is somewhat risky as you might imagine. I drove for McClures and Bonnys at night for a couple of years in the 70's and it too had its moments. I remember picking up a really drunk old First Nations guy who needed to go home to the rez in North Van.

He was so drunk he did not know which way was up and on our way a smell began to fill the car. I looked over at him and he had tears on his face. He said "I just shit myself and I am so sorry." I always treat people who are hurt with kindness and I just told him it was no big deal but thanks for saying sorry. I cleaned it up and while trying not to gag I realized what an indicator of saying sorry is when it comes to defining a person's worth. He was so drunk yet he felt remorse for what happened in the cab.

Last night I dealt with ghetto people all night. Most of these folks are trying their best to deal in a world that is stacked against them for a variety of reasons. However, the effect of being from poor areas with generational poverty is starting to break down many of these folks sense of decency. Particularly the young ones.

I continually run into some sense of entitlement that spills over into everyday interaction. A month or so after having my hip replaced due to a fall whiich snapped the thigh bone right off at the socket I got into a fight with two big kids. Because of my recent surgery and my age I do not move as fast as I once did. Neither one of them would engage.

I got out to fight them because one of them spit in my face. As I attempted to fight one the other would come at me from behind. Tag teaming is effective. Finally one got close enough where i though he was going to actually fight. That is when the lights went out due to the large man behind me who came up from my back and really unloaded on me right on the side of my head. Blood everywhere. Head woulds suck and bleed like crazy.

I got a concussion out of it. Not my first and probably not my last. It seems I am wandering but let me lay it out. Many young men have stopped respecting anything but wealth. The concepts of gratitude, kindness or just being polite has left the house. I am grateful I do not carry because I would have been in prison by now.

The African American culture in the more challenged areas of cities is disintegrating. Their young men often go to prison. I know this first hand because I was director of treatment for inmates in both Delaware and NY. The talent is still there as is the potential. However, there is a shift in values taking place among these young men and women. I hope it is not fatal because it sure looks like it.

The reason I bring all this up, or one of them at least, is to come out once again against the man who portrays the same lack of respect I just went over. There is anger of course. Young black men know they are not on a level playing field. I know some here will disagree and blame them for not getting up off their ass and doing something. I feel you but the evidence around these kids suggest that working hard does NOT bring rewards. It does NOT pay the bills. So of course there is something wrong here. Big time. All of you who argue for Trump are right in many ways. However, it is his basic lack of human decency that ultimately offends me. Maybe because I am older than most of you? I don't know really, but I see a threat that will egg on the type of behaviour I write about. Those two who I tried to fight were from good areas and they were white.

Hate can be like the flu. Hillary is not the answer in so many ways that many of you have outlined so well. You are also right, but Trump is playing on this hate and that should always be resisted because of where it can go.

Sorry to meander and my writing is not cohesive. I am writing while I think about these things. I think about the African American men and women who are still fighting to be decent and hard working. I do wish it payed off more for them but globalization is a fact that cannot be walked back the way Trump walks back his remarks after watching the talking heads to see how they took it. Enough. I am a passionate guy and mean what i say. I offer Strange a straight up apology. You are just lucky I am not shitting myself while doing it.

It sounds like she is trying to maintain democracy Rats. Torture and big brother oversight does not match anyone's idea of that. Have you read the stories of the GITMO inmates? Most of them were grabbed up in the hysteria after 9/11. There is serious doubt as to how dangerous many are. What is wrong with enemy combatants being given the same rights as us? Is there a better way to advertise our way of life? Dick Morris sounds bitter. I wonder what his story is really.

There is nothing to sue. It is not defamation from my point of view. It is simply democracy which it sounds like he disagrees with. The above lines describe a police state, not us. On top of this every commentator in politics says she is a hawk on these issues. Odd eh?
