CC Random thread

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

When I was a kid back in the sixties the big three beers in Vancouver were Lucky Lager, Old Style and Carling Pilsener. The situation was completely different in eastern Canada, beers were regional back then.

Today Old Style and Lucky Lager are considered budget brands and Pil isn't even around anymore.

Is defeating the French really worthy of a National Holiday?

Ran across the line yesterday to pick up a parcel. Usually a 20 minute round trip from home.

Sat waiting on the US Border for 45 minutes because they were having computer issues. They were kind enough to come out and tel me and the five cars lined up behind me.

Finally they waved me forward, Border Gard tells me he'll try an older system they have inside and then says he wishes he could Tazer the new system "8,000 volts should do something to it" as he walks away with my passport. Comes back a couple of minutes later, says "good enough for me", give me my passport back, wishes me a good day.

Gotta love small town crossings where you are a recognized regular.

LOL - is there anything that doesn't trigger conservatives these days? :D

Down here it's just complaining, with no real action or plan to help govern or create policy - just one giant anti-woke brigade! :D

I don't understand the actual need for new policies or ways to govern. North America has progressively weakened as a society, both in terms of unity and economy, the farther that government and policies have shifted towards the left side of the aisle.

Interesting. How so? I'll say each generation gets softer, but I'll wager that's more about out comfort levels that come with innovations, and less hardships.
I don't see how the any government has affected that.

The economy goes up and down and in cycles. Sometimes it sucks, sometimes its very strong. Again, I haven't felt left or right have helped or hindered me.

But... I've always believed that society and governments should be judged on how they help those who need it most. In general, "leftys" will lean more towards helping those who need it. "Rightys" will cut those programs, and in turn help bigger corporations (trickle down). Again, just speaking in very general terms.

But to see a whole segment of the population bent out of shape because a truck has a rainbow on it? C'mon, its just marketing to a certain group. There's bigger issues at play.

With sales of Bud light down over 23% in late April early May, AB has offered a bit back on expired product from it's distributors.
