Is there a god?

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

There might be a god, and I'm leaning that way as I get closer to death.

Why are you so opposed to finding life on other planets? You know eventually life will be discovered on another planet or they will discover us…although apparently some already have discovered us and are already here, amongst us, studying us…is that in the Bible?

I’m pretty sure when the humans evolved from apes, that a few dozen apes took off to some other planets and started to populate them like they did with Earth before.

Nah, please check the thread title of the post; I switched it to "Is there a geode?"
I think Topper got it.

It's the distance.

If we sent a spaceship to the nearest planet that could possibly have advanced life forms, it would not reach that planet (nor of course return home) within several generations.

We'd be asking questions in the hope that our great great great great great great grandchildren might get an answer, if human civilisation is still around at that point.

It’s got you worried doesn’t it, Mëds. The more advanced we become the clearer things become - we are not alone

Have you not heard of warp speed, Per? Black hole highways, collapsing/folding, galaxies, wormholes? What rock did you crawl out from under?

No. I'm not worried in the least. Are you so worried that they won't find something that you have to misrepresent this way?

Per is still travelling on impulse thrusters while the rest of us are rocking around with warp drives

Are dinosaurs in the Bible? Who’s image did god create dinosaurs in and how come there was no Noah’s Ark for the dinosaurs?

Of all the millions of species created by God, the bible says only man was created in God's image.

(you dumb fucking goon)

Millions of species have gone extinct since creation.

Why are you so obsessed with dinosaurs?

Do you expect the bible to detail every single species?

If so, why? It's not that kind of book. It's a map to paradise. Period.

By the way, it's interesting species keep going extinct, but no new ones come into existence.

Wake up, you've been brainwashed! You should sue your elementary school teachers...

Well that would take a few million years, hundreds of millions perhaps. Planet Earth is 4.5 billion years old . Evolution takes time, c’mon Doc, you know that.
