Not at all. It is like your boss asking to see your girlfriend's bedroom.

Or in your case, photos of your father's butt plugs collection
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Maybe some of the players sext their wives/girlfriends so their phone is a very private thing. I can see how they'd be uncomfortable.
Well if the story is as said, that he asked to see pics of their family to get to know the players (which is a story that some of the players confirmed) then WTF is the problem?

If the player didn’t want Babs snooping on their phone then they simply exercise their right to say no and don’t hand him your phone.

This reeks of fabricated cancel culture.
I thin we need to cancel the cancel culture cancelers.
So that we have a homogenized society where diversity and freedom thought and speech don't exist?

Yeah, because it's so easy to say no to authority figures.
It is actually.....yes. Especially in today's culture.

If that's what happened, then yeah, inappropriate.....but at least one of the adults in the room should have said no. It's not like Babcock is coaching teenagers here (or maybe it was a rookie?).

Johnny Hockey says there was nothing inappropriate about his interaction. He's not alone in that assertion.

The accusers are Mike Commodore and the crew over at Spittin Chiclets.....they've long had a bias against Babcock, especially Commodore.

Incorrect.

The NHLPA conducted interviews with the players - and this was the main reason Columbus Mgmt. decided to move on from Babcock.

Bissonette just brought it forward.

We've learned enough over the years about Babcock to know he's weird and nasty at the very least.

This NHLPA investigation concluding with his resignation is just the latest chapter and the final nail in his coffin.

I'm glad he fucked with the Leaves players heads for 4 years though.

Is that wrong?

If that’s the case then there ya go. All above board.

However, I don’t like that our society is moving towards a court of public opinion, because that court is so heavily held on social media where, by and large, only the extreme and reactionary views are most loudly heard.

Exactly. That is what the candle culture cancelers want. If they don't like something label it cancel culture. So we agree.

It’s actually really nice to see the ‘mainstream’ media sources (EBL’s, all of them) having to eat crow when most of them were chirping ‘check the source’ when Biz made it public. I like seeing a lot of the ‘journalists’ having to shut the fuck up once in a while.

Hahaha. You literally just walked out Jordan Peterson’s definition of wokeness.

It my point of view falls in line with said Cancel culture cancellers (if there is such an official term), then they are people who simply want to live and let live. The practice of Libertarianism is the ideal society. Equal individual rights for all and a standard of justice for all that is not conditionally held to based on one’s race, pronouns, religion, or sexual preference, or what-have-you. Nor is it influenced by the mob.

Madcombinepilot wrote: Mon Sep 18, 2023 8:04 pm While we will never know the real truths behind the Babcock stories (I don’t see predator? — but I could be wrong), but if I was in Babcock’s shoes, I would look at all the drama caused by the youth of today, then look at those 50 sheets Toronto already paid me, then decide the drama is not worth it…

When you have been paid 50+ million already for how you do something, you don’t change your style for a new job. They knew what they were hiring.
Jonathan Franzén said back in 2019 already that Babcock was a skilled and conscientious coach who always came prepared and was great at handling the media, but beside that he was a terrible human being; the worst person Jonathan had ever met. He was a bully that would harass people for no reason, be it a janitor at the arena, a player or just anyone. Just because he could. Franzén had gone through multiple concussions and was suffering from a depression, probably at least in part because of the concussions, and the Cock saw fit to mock him and belittle him while he struggled to get back to game shape, to the point where Franzén started having problems sleeping at night and suffered panic attacks. Other team members have confirmed that Franzén was one of the players really mistreated and picked on by him. And former Canuck Mikael Samuelsson also confirms the picture of Babcock being a sadistic psychopath.

I think back in the day coaches were allowed to do pretty much whatever they wanted, as long as they could show results.
Today people won't take that shit any longer, and I think that's probably for the better.

Babcock brought this upon himself. He has been fired before for treating players poorly, and hopefully this time it is for good.

Finally a Russian player with the guts to speak up and condemn the war!

Yeah, I know he plays in Calgary, but still.
I have newfound respect for him! :)
