I think the Canucks should take a shot at Phil Kessel on a 1 year deal. The guy is willing to let the iron man streak go, he just wants to be in the league and play.

He’s a smart player, and far enough removed from the Leaves now that the stench will have faded. He scored 36 points last year in a tertiary role that saw him average less than 13 min per game. He was 10th among Vegas forwards for PP/TOI too, so well down the depth chart.

In Van I think he’s be a huge asset on the 2nd PP unit, probably good enough that he could replace a “superior” 1PP member at times in order to bolster the 2nd unit for matchup reasons.

If nothing else he’d be a massive social media addition for the Canucks as a guy who loves to take pot shots at Tarrana fans.
