Agreed could definitely use another babyface, drance is kinda on an island all alone.
It's kind of like that scene from Reservoir Dogs these days. Everyone wants to be Mr Black. Well, somebody has to be Mr Pink or we don't have a game.

Young journo students should look to Iain McIntyre for inspiration. He's had a great run without ever turning heel.

Oh, I think he's been doing a bit of pot stirring himself the last couple years.

Benning promoted Brackett to the top job a year after inheriting him from Mike Gillis’ scouting staff.

I think you don’t understand what a pot stirrer is. I Mac is very pro management.

Like how Gallagher was pro management when his buddy Gillis was at the helm, Vincenzo Skully?

He absolutely was. The media guys are a pile of flip flippers for the most part. But I Mac is like a loyal puppy to this administration. He isn’t capable of stirring the pot. Though he did loathe Gillis and was devastated when the Cheeseburgular got canned.

The 1040 crowd still love Gillis, especially Sekeres and Price. They can’t stand Benning, just like the Athletic whipper snappers like Dayal and Burke. To be honest, IMac is a relief compared to the barf that is being puked out about Benning from Day 1

I don’t like the constant bashing from 1040. But they all flip flop. That’s what I’m saying. I Mac acted like a fool when Dave Nonis got canned. Gallagher hated Quinn and Burke but loved Gillis. It’s hard to take any of them serious. Gary Mason was the last good read in this town. Farhan is pretty good on the radio and Murph is aces on TV. Other than that they pretty much all suck. Rintoul isn’t bad but his voice is ultra creepy.

To be more honest, Benning deserved a lot of the lumps he took in this market during his first three years on the job. He doesn’t however, deserve all the shit he’s taking now from the media and the inbreds at hfboards.

Vancouver is a huge market with zero credible media talent save possibly farhan lalji but he leans away from venturing an opinion imo.

Cowgrease has jason gregor and coilerville has bob stauffer...both are top shelf reporters who have a balanced perspective.

If you guys want to listen in sometime stauffer is on 650 ched and and gregor is 960 the fan. 960 does a daily around the league segment around 1 mountain time mon-fri which is good. Usually intetview shorty or lalji for the canucks

I can respect a reporter that gives his opinion on facts at the time of an event, but have trouble believing the credibility of those that wait, then jump,on the negative side.

Gahhligee never had a positive thing to say about the team, and spewed shit like a lactose intolerant assohole after fresh milk.

So, before judging a repoter or media guy, say for example JD Burke, I would ask myself things like:
- what was his opinion on draft day of the picks of Petersson, Boesser, and Hughes? - who would he have rather had, and why? .. what's his opinion of the picks now? Did he have an opinion BEFORE draft day, or did he just jump on the wagon after the event?
- what was his opinion on UFA day of the Erickson signing? What was he saying about whomthe Canucks should be targeting in FA a couple weeks before ? (And the same of Beagle, Rousel, and Ferlund).
- what was he saying about trade deadline these last few years? Before and after trade deadline?

Point I am trying make is a lot of these media guys try to be contrary just to get the limelight. They never have an opinion before an action takes place, just spew negative shit after an event to grab more limelight. The guys who clench their hands together screaming 'management needs to get help for the team' then bash management for making a move.

These are the people I have zero respect for.
The 'Chain of Command' is the chain I am going to beat you with until you understand I am in charge.

We are currently witnessing the demise of cinema, replaced by at home streaming services. I’m assuming the am/fm radio format will be the next to fall with the rise of podcasts, Spotify etc.

Sekeres on 1040 said they can no longer afford to pay their guests. That to me is spelling the end. Ads are finding other services to promote on since well, nobody listens to radio or buy newspapers anymore. Evolution of media.
