2025 NHL Draft Class

Post by Chef Boi RD »

Ole Bobby MacKenzie came out with his pre-season top 20 for the 2025 draft class. Bobby’s lists are made up from lists provided by NHL team scouts. So it’s a pretty legit list instead of a goofball list provided by the deranged Craig Button

https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/james-hagens-in- ... -1.2176638

1. Hagens - C - USA
2. Schaefer - D - Canada
3. Frondell - C - Sweden
4. Martone - RW - Canada
5. Ryabkin - C - Russia
6. McQueen - C - Canada
7. Misa - LW - Canada
8. Spence - LW - Canada
9. Hensler - D - USA
10. Desnoyers - C - Canada
11. Moore - C - USA
12. Mrtka- D - Czech
13. Eklund - LW - Sweden
14. O’Brien - C - Canada
15. Trethewey - D - USA
16. Reschny - C - Canada
17. Guite - LW - Canada
18. Ihs-Wozniak - RW - Sweden
19. Cootes - C - Canada
20. Ravensbergen - G - Canada

Another strong class of Canadians. Hoping Ravensbergen be a a available around where the Canucks will be picking if Allvin and Rutherford haven’t moved it for a rental.

Depends on how Goalie Guru Ian Clark views the kid. If the kid gets Clark’s thumbs-up, I wouldn’t be surprised if Allvin keeps the pick and selects the kid if they are looking for Demko’s successor. They have Šilovs, but goalie depth is a good thing to have.

Goalie depth is massive! Benning drafted two stud goalies - Demko and Silovs and look at how we’ve benefited from it. Don’t want another regime like Gillis who didn’t draft an NHL caliber goalie in his entire 6 years, that’s no good.

Silovs the stud rocked a .881 save % in the games that count.

Goaltending in Canada needs to pick up.

The lack of draft threads for 2026 and 2028 is alarming.

Roger McQueen a potential top 3 pick is lighting it up in the WHL, leads the league in scoring. Michael Misa and Porter Martone are both having great starts in the OHL, Misa is leading the league in scoring while Martone is second. The 2025 class is looking like a strong one.

Should be able to check out McQueen in January when Brandon is in Kelowna, will definitely see a lot of Ravensbergen. He's already beat Kelowna 5-2 and looked strong, he's a big kid. We'll see how he looks the next few games as Kelowna get their NHL prospects back on the roster.

Medicine Hat and Edmonton don't come to town this year, but should next year which will be fun seeing McKenna and Joe in their draft years.

With Kelowna bidding for the 2026 Memorial Cup it'll be interesting to see what they do this year and next. Wouldn't be surprised to see them move most of the guys in their last year of eligibly for some younger kids and picks this year. Also wound't put it past the Rockets owner to stock up now and spend big on a couple of those kids listed later on your list if they are awarded host city.

Watched Victoria in Kelowna last night, Cole Reschny looked good. Really sees the ice well, distributes the puck and creates a ton of scoring chances. Also scored the tying gal with 30 seconds left, Victoria eventually won in a shootout. Solid defensively as well, kind of reminded me of Brenden Morrison.

Keep an eye on 2026 draft eligible Keaton Verhoeff though, only 16 and already 6'4" 212 RHD. Skates well for his size and age and gets put in every situation, this kid will move up the draft rankings in the next year or so!

Bro what’s up with Landon DuPont? Is this the next Bobby Orr? 2027 draft class FFS and already dominating the WHL.

Gavin McKenna is catching fire. Too bad McQueen got injured, not expected to return until December.

Yeah looks like a great talent!

He's here twice so I'll try to check him out. Nov 24 and Jan 25 I believe. He's definitely benefiting from being on a very strong Everett team!

The no. 1 overall pick for 2025 doesn’t seem to be a lock for American James Hagens anymore. Seems to be a seesaw battle between Hagens, Schaefer, Martone and Misa.
