Post holidays hangover has hit Strangelove hard.....he's forgetting to switch accounts.Strangelove wrote: ↑Sat Jan 02, 2021 10:50 amAhhh, of course.Strangelove wrote: ↑Sat Jan 02, 2021 10:49 amPerhaps. It all depends on what kind of season he has this year.Strangelove wrote: ↑Sat Jan 02, 2021 10:48 amGreat point Strangelove.Strangelove wrote: ↑Fri Jan 01, 2021 10:04 pm Guys, Edler's next contract is a 35+ one.
Meaning he can have a lower base salary plus bonuses.
If his play is good enough he'll trigger bonuses.
No doubt something fair for both sides can be worked out...
So what are you thinking... $2M base plus another 2 in potential bonuses?
A pleasure chatting with you as always Doc...

Re: Canucks Contracts
You're' right and he likely will continue to be worth more after this season than they'll be able to afford so he'll have to take a decent chunk less than his open market value to remain here. I think the two dollar amounts you've noted are bang on.Doyle Hargraves wrote: ↑Sat Jan 02, 2021 9:32 am I think you can assess it at the end of the year and go from there. As of right now he wouldn’t be overpaid at 5 million on a one year deal. Who knows? Maybe his play craters in the condensed season and you can get him back for 3 million. I don’t think he has any desire to play elsewhere though unless they really make him a rancid offer.
Re: Canucks Contracts
Could be the end of it. Sure could have brought a ton to this team if not for the health issues.Rick Dhaliwal @DhaliwalSports
Just talked with #Canucks F Micheal Ferland in Manitoba.
“There are good days and bad days, this last week has been tough because I can not be with my teammates. Being away from the team has been some of the toughest and hardest things in my life”
Ferland is okay with going on LTIR : “I am fine with that. Getting healthy first is my goal. I am not close to being at the NHL level and I have a ways to go.”
[Ferland has heard the calls to retire : “I hear a lot of it, from my wife and family and I understand. I just want to get healthy first”

You’re 0/2, pretty sure you’ll be 0/3 if we look back on this post in a year or two.

Re: Canucks Contracts
Nathan McKinnon is 37th in scoring - 1 goal 7 assists. Should we be concerned? Are we gonna have to rely on McDavid alone to beat the high flying Americans at the Olympics?

He has 10 points in 7 games. What is there to worry about exactly?Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Sat Nov 06, 2021 8:27 am Nathan McKinnon is 37th in scoring - 1 goal 7 assists. Should we be concerned? Are we gonna have to rely on McDavid alone to beat the high flying Americans at the Olympics?
You will be cheering for the Americans anyways.
I’d be more concerned about 6ft 2 127 pound Elias Pettersson. He has 5 points in 11 games.

Re: Canucks Contracts
I see the same discombobulation with Pettersson as the laughs saw with Nylander after signed his contract (also held out, missed camp but Willie held out longer)
He may end up being a dud all year just like WN. The good news long term is he came around and is a much better player now

I think both teams like their players. Is that so bad? Is it hard to understand? I guess with the fourteen crows I just jammed in your mouth you find it hard to communicate.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Sat Nov 06, 2021 9:01 am 2019 top two picks per team
