I believe 2 more NHL games he'll require waivers, why he's staying put in Abby for now.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Thanks. I figured it was something like that.

This Lucas Forsell guy is really getting a lot of coverage lately with his goal scoring skills in the elite SHL league.
6'0 right-shot RW.

Here’s that Forsell goal. Goals in each of the last 5, 6 of the last 7. Since the beginning of February, he’s tied for 3rd in the league in goals and 1st among U21 players.

He’s been streaky in the past, but this is a new amount of success at this level.

Not bad for a 7th rounder in 2021.
He was a seventh-round pick of the Canucks in 2021 and was one of the youngest players in that draft. If he was born 10 days later, he would have been a 2022 draft-eligible player and would have likely gone much higher than the seventh round.
We are about to get to some goal highlights but before we do, I just want to mention where these goals are being scored from. They are not snipes from the half-wall — a lot of Forsell’s offence comes from right around the crease. He is willing to go to those dirty areas and though he is still undersized, he works hard and has the skill to finish around the net.

Who will actually make this club and have an impact? Forsell or Lekkerimaki or neither?

Lucas Forsell does look like the real deal. The playoffs have just started and tonight Färjestad beat Frölunda 3-2 in regulation in the first game of the quarterfinal. Forsell scored the first and the game winning goal and assisted on the second goal. :o

Frölunda’s first goal was scored by their captain, Joel Lundqvist, ie the twin brother of Henrik Lundqvist.
Oh, and Loui assisted on Frölunda’s second goal! :look:

From what I seen, it seems that a lot of Lucas’s goal scoring consists of him raking in rebounds.
That’s a good sign, imho. People who score a lot on rebounds tend to be pure goal scorers with good instincts of where to be and when to be there. It is always good to have a guy on your team willing to skate into that slot and score some shitty garbage goals.

And they are not scared to get in the dirty areas instead of being a perimeter player.

Does Assdeep Pains deserve a cup of coffee with the big club before the season is over, hence ‘play out the season like it’s a training camp’? Or do we just ride on the backs of Demko, Petey and Hughes for wins galore?

Not before McDonough, Hoglander or Karlsson.

Let the rookie pro earn his mins and get prepped for playoff hockey, I say.

Your guess is as good as mine, Megs
