Sounds like #Canucks Brock Boeser's blood clot developed in his leg, something team medical staff found after Game 6.

He has been placed on blood thinning medication and is not expected to be available to play again this season.

Brutal break for #Canucks' leading goal scorer.
The only HW the Canucks need

The Covid anti-vax conspiracy weirdo’s are all over this.

Blood cots are common with professional athletes

hope for a full recovery in the offseason

Pulled from Twitter

In the NHL, with one case almost every year, we are closer to 1 in 700 or 800. The trend pre-dates COVID and has been noticeable for 15+ yrs (Timonen, Vokoun, Fleischmann, Ortmeyer, McCormick, Dupuis, Postma, Cervenka, Vasilevskiy, Silfverberg, Stamkos, Kreider, among others).

Pretty common. Not seeing how it will drop his trade value. Plus we ain’t trading him. Boeser wants to stay here.

I wonder if there's any correlation between whatever supplements they are taking and blood-clotting issues? I can imagine the clinical trials on a lot of those products don't involve athletes of this calibre.

I had the same thing decades ago when I was in top physical condition.

Twas the result of a knee injury and/or the surgery to fix dat dere.

In my case the blood clot resulted in a pulmonary embolism.

I was on blood thinners for half a year.

Couldn't do much in the way of physical activity for the first couple of months.

(bruising and pain would occur throughout my bod due to the blood thinners)

After a few months I felt perfectly fine... and have never had further issues.

I imagine the science has improved since then... and we know pro athletes get special care.

For instance, I notice Vasilevskiy only missed 3 weeks with a blood clot back in 2015.

It's more than likely Brock will be fine for training camp.

But there is also a possibility it could end his career:

Yeah, it all depends upon the cause. If it’s just related to trauma, then likely no biggie.

I would imagine special treatment would be to go in and remove the clot using an angioplasty of some sort…. then shorter term anticoagulant therapy.

Put Pettersson back with Miller and put Hoggy on the left.

Hoggy Miller Peter
Suter Lindy Miky
The Green Berets
PDG Lafferty Karlsson

I don’t want to see Aman in there. They don’t trust Podkolzin. Maybe Sassoon is up next.

Whiskey shots already. Looking to switch gears to crantinis soon though. Maybe a beer or two. My guts don’t like the beers so much. Roll up a a big dube.

Crantini? Not bad. You should try the cosmopolitan kind of similar. Ever do an old fashioned or Negroni! How about a Paloma! Or a Southside!
