To circle back on EP40s bubble playoff performance, here's an iMac article I stumbled upon written during the 3rd round against Vegas that supports my assertion:

https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/c ... s-chirps/

Excerpt:
But boys being boys, and great players being great players, Pettersson naturally responded with a titanic performance in Game 2, scoring one goal and setting up two others as the Canucks jumped the Knights at the start to even the best-of-seven series.
His three points gave him 16 in 12 playoff games, second in the league behind only Colorado Avalanche Hart Trophy finalist Nathan MacKinnon, who had 18 points.

In 50 years, no other Canuck has scored that many points in his first 12 post-season games.

Homer Macintyre?

I wish I could rewatch some of those games because I do recall that I was quite surprised at how well QH and EP responded to the intense physical targetting by their 3 opponents that year

Our Little Peter is bedeviled by that damned contract; he seems to have come down with an epic case of paralysis by analysis. They really need to get him some serious couch time with a shrink before it's too late. The longer they put it off, the harder this is going to be to unclog.

What a mess.

And some are comfortable sitting on the picket fence defining that line.

What is starting to loom large is Canucks management's failure to add some size to probably the smallest forward core in the playoffs. Way too many Uber soft and slow forwards. Look how well rumoured Canucks target Brandon Duhaime has played for Colorado...

The large defense core hides it to a point but Nashville's defense has had a very easy ride leaving them fresh

Butt they couldn't give up on CoHog

Catch Ricky's post game presser when asked about the 11.6 line last night "Fine" looks for next question. He didn't want to talk about them.

Tocchet knows better than to diss the company line I take it. His only hope for this year is to unlock EP which is proving to be a massive puzzle.

I'll agree that Hoglander has had an absolutely terrible playoffs though. He's in over his head. Tocchet during an interview talking Hogs earlier this year mentioned he struggles with the added ice time when playing up the lineup but if he already knows this, why hasn't he broken up that line?

In my opinion he should load Pettersson back with BB and Miller, reform the Blueger line with Dakota and Garland then see what Lindholm can do with any of the remaining collection of rabble. Maybe Suter can line up with Lindy?

Besides Pods who we just sent down there to get ice time there's Aatu Raty who plays a responsible two way game, but I don't know if he'd be eligible to play up here until Abby is eliminated and they are just getting started round two tonight. But Pods is clearly the answer anyway, though I personally think the problem is further up the lineup.
