Re: 2025 Canucks Off-season

Jack Roslovic still farting around out there unsigned. Maybe the Nucks can make a move and snag him on the cheap, kinda like when we first signed PS24 on a team friendly deal and when we snagged Blankinen. Sure, he's not exactly a bona-fide top tier 2C, but he's a decent middle 6 and should give us ...

Re: 2025 Canucks Off-season

Speaking of the resigning of the 3 Americans to deals that extend beyond Hughes current contract, I'm surprised none of the media asked any of them if they had talked to Quinn about his long term plans to stay or leave... Poor Quinn, if Garland was 24/7 trying to pursuade Brock to resign I can't ...

Re: 2025 Canucks Off-season

Some interesting tidbits, Dhaliwal reporting: - Nucks wanted C.Dvorak, he passed. - Nucks wanted Mikael Granlund, he passed. We would have had a Sea of Granlunds again. :P - Brock had 5 offers on the table for him. He waited out the Nucks and got his 7 yrs. - Nucks trying to move DJ81 & TB53 to open ...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26

I have a soft spot for Silovs. But the potential and that tournament winning ability in Silovs would really be a bummer to let go. I always liked King Arthurs as well. If it were my call, I would have moved Demmer out to make room for Silovs, get an asset back and free up cap space. It looks like ...

Boo... somehow, I won't be surprised if Pietrangelo magically comes back in the playoffs. :(

MITCH MARNER SIGNS AN 8-YEAR DEAL WITH A $12M AAV IN VEGAS IN A SIGN-AND-TRADE WITH THE leaves
If Vegas are going to be over the camp, maybe JR & Co can try to pry W.Karlsson or Barbashev off them, preferably the latter (Barbi). Kinda like when JB landed the infamous Schmidty88 for cheap. :P

Re: 2025 Canucks Off-season

Dhali says Suter is talking about re-upping. I hope mgmt goes in a different direction and goes for a guy like Jack Roslovic instead. Pretty much slim pickings now: Taveres gone, C.Giroux gone. I was thinking of N.Dowd also for the bottom 6 and even he's gone. There's J.Skinner, but I don't know ...

Re: 2025 Canucks Off-season

Surprised Cole McWard and Tristan Nielsen were not qualified, particularly Nielsen. I'm actually a bit surprised McWardo wasn't qualified cuz they seemed quite high on him b4. I remember one year, they actually thought about keeping him around with the big club at the start of the season. They keep ...

Re: AROUND THE LEAGUE - 25-26

The Nuge is in that Brenden Morrison category. Overpaid , overhyped but fair…good enough…middle of the road. For Demko, RNH isn’t the return I’d be looking for - I agree he’s overhyped. Send him back east to CBJ for a centre. Yah, true dat. Early in his career, I thought RNH was going to be Joe Saki ...

Re: 2025 NHL Draft

Scouting Report on B.Cootes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stVHwkvfPhc It looks like he does have pretty good wheels and the pucks just explodes off his stick pretty quick (reminds me a bit of Kuzzy). Just hope he can get stronger and build some muscle in time. Also would be interesting to see if ...

With Gibson off the table, pretty much only Demko left. C'mon Oilers/Stan Bowman, time to pony up for Demmer.
What do you take back? Podkolzin and Savoie? They don't have anything else
Burnaby boy Nooby-Hopkins (RNH). Bam, our 2C. :D

Re: 2025 Canucks Off-season

Yeah. Because Brock is a puck retrieving forechecked who gives 110 % every shift. Brock is the better scorer though and those guys are generally hard to find. Brock is a potential 40G guy and Garly kinda tops out @ 20G. All I know is when we had Millzy, Brock was always out there on the 1st unit PP ...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26

But if you still care about how this season turns out and hope it leads to a Quinn extension, trading Demmer now is about the riskiest, dumbest moves you can make. It's a gamble either way, no doubt. Don't get me wrong, I like Demmer and all, but I always had doubts about his durability. I feel ...

Lancer wrote: Thu Jun 26, 2025 7:24 pm I always figured Garland would end up being the most valuable piece out of that trade. Tons of heart and character.

6x$6 is nothing to complain about.
Man, I dunno. If we're going to give Garly $6M X 6, I'd rather trade Garly and pay the extra $2M to Brockstar and give him that $8M.
