Re: Re-booted SKYO approved pipe dreams and trade ideas
I never understood why Allvin didn’t paper Pettersson down to the AHL after the ‘25 trade deadline, his rookie season. He wasn’t above and beyond ahead of his peers where more AHL time would have been detrimental. He could have been an option for Manny on their quest for the Calder cup.

Only one demand matters to me, to waive his NMC in the next 4 weeks

Re: Re-booted SKYO approved pipe dreams and trade ideas
I don’t see Pettersson as any more than a bottom pairing D. I believe he does have trade value and some more upside, but this team needs an asshole on the backend that can take a regular shift who brings character and toughness. While I also don’t see Arbor as more than a 12-16 min defender, he bri ...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26
Biggest winners with the Malhotra hiring will be Kudryavtsev and Mueller. Perhaps Mancini. He thrived under Malhotra. Manny may trust him more than Foote did. And Karson and Sasson. Players he won the Calder with. In fact anyone on Abbotsford may have a better shot at camp. Sass, Karlsson, Raty ...

Re: Canucks Young Guns
Well known how #2 Matthias Ohlund mentored Alex Edler.
Edler must be coming on to guide little Eddy.

Re: Re-booted SKYO approved pipe dreams and trade ideas
It would make more sense for Ellis’ contract to go to Chicago, seeing as they’re the ones that need to reach the cap floor.
Regarding Ellis, would his contract not be mostly covered by insurance?

Re: Re-booted SKYO approved pipe dreams and trade ideas
Dallas definitely needs to make a big move.
Harley
Heiskanen
Hronek
Lindell
Yikes
Robertson is likely on the move, if not offer sheeit
Decent benchmark to get the bidding war going (What say you Grier?)
But if that’s the best we can do for Hronek, he’s staying put.

Re: 2026 NHL Draft
Interesting point about Chi and SJS. Both need to take a big step next year. Fil could be packaged for another top 5, but I’d rather see a player come back, one who can slide right into the new core. Fil would leave a huge void, after all. Not sure there’s too many teams that couldn’t use a 2/3 defen ...

Re: Free Agency 2026
Stanley seems like an interesting option.
But there will likely be 10-15 other teams looking to add him too, so it would cost.

Re: Free Agency 2026
I think the Canucks lacked experienced depth on the blueline the last couple years. It’s important to have a reliable, low maintenance 5-7 guy who can carry some PK min and help guide the kids. Bonus if he can drop the mitts.

Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26
Well put, Cuz.
Moving on from Pettersson is a small but significant step in the right direction.
If it doesn’t happen and he shows up for training camp, I just can’t see myself coming back, ever.
