Re: Trade Rumours & Armchair Pipe Dreams 22-23 Sponsored by SKYO

The players that are being traded for a haul are defensemen, that’s why teams like Nashville always profit from drafting and sometimes trading them, and why the Canucks should prioritize them, too. The two big trades and signings since the season ended have been focused on locking up defensemen befo...

Re: Who should the Canucks pick? - 2023 Draft

All the well informed analysts won’t want to compare prospects to actual NHLers because it puts too many unrealistic expectations on the kids and their incorrect predictions come back to haunt them, but thankfully I’m not a well informed analyst and I’m already haunted by all the Canucks previous y...

We got Pettersson over Glass
And Hughes over Kravtsov

Hope that helps.

1986
Dan Woodley 7th OA 7 games 2pts
over
Brian Leetch 9th OA 1205 games 1028pts

Yup pretty bad. At least Nedved had a career.

Re: Who should the Canucks pick? - 2023 Draft

Elite Prospects has their latest mock draft with Moore at 8, Reinbacher at 9 and Simashev moving all the way up to 10. So much for my idea of trading down and still getting Simashev. I think their draft is quite good. They have the Canucks getting Dvorsky at 11. A needed centre and one of the younge...

Re: Who should the Canucks pick? - 2023 Draft

I want the Canucks to move away from their stereotypical pick, and get a great skater at a needed position. Michael Grabner and Pavel Bure say hi. Seriously, though, I don't see any potential Shawn Antoskis or Jim Sandlaks around where Butthead is picking. The fact that Tkachuk is Florida's Conn Sm...

Re: Who should the Canucks pick? - 2023 Draft

I think Baldy is having difficulties finding another GM that wants to trade a great skating centre or Dman for wingers and picks. They pretty much have to draft these unicorns, which probably means weighing positional value. I’m sure the Canucks can get a good winger prospect again at this draft. Bu...

Re: Who should the Canucks pick? - 2023 Draft

The last two top picks were wingers, and most of the Canucks better prospects are wingers. If those don’t turn out, why should we expect the scouting staff to get it right this time? Unless Michkov falls they should be filling a need. I’ll be disappointed if the description of the guy they select is...

Re: Who should the Canucks pick? - 2023 Draft

Can’t see Michkov falling that far. Don’t know who will be the best player available at that time, but I can give an additional letter grade mark on if the best player available happens to match a needed position. A+ Right Handed Defensemen A Centre C+ Left Handed Defensemen C- Left Winger D Right W...

Re: Meanwhile, on the other side of the pond 2022/23

Just noticed Myers has played 918 NHL games. What are the odds he plays all 82 games and reaches game 1000 at the last game of the regular season? Will he get his silver stick wearing a Canuck uniform next season?

Re: Canucks Young Guns

Bobrovsky is 6’2 182
Fleury 6’2 185
The best goalies need to be wiry and really thin.
Silovs 6’4 203
That fat bastard doesn’t need more strength. He needs to develop anorexi.
Get him down to 190 and he’s gold instead of bronze.

LATVIA WINS BRONZE!
Woke up and caught the OT winner.
Silvos winning wearing Jonny Canuck mask, moving up the prospects chart.

Re: Canucks News n Notes 22-23

Saw this coming. Wasn’t good enough to contribute in the NHL, and wasn’t willing to go to the AHL.
Lost that trade, even if it wasn’t much.
Pro scouts take a minus on that one.
