Re: Which draft pick was the biggest miss for the Canucks?

Cotton Hill was far from the BPA Not debating that - just you pointing out that the team needed Dmen and should have drafted a Dman. This is just another miss in a LONG line of many for this franchise. Combined with a lack of lottery luck, it's surprising we've picked anyone of value over the years!

Re: Which draft pick was the biggest miss for the Canucks?

Picking centre Hodgson (Gillis was obsessed with this guy) when we already had two great young centres Hank Sedin and Ryan Kesler when we clearly needed defenceman was an absolute colossal mistake with Erik Karlsson still on board. Karlsson in my mind was the missing ingredient Gillis couldn’t summ...

All fair points, guys. I was just going off the 'this is a putin thread ' thing.

Bush going into Iraq might be a close comparison.

This one is just pissing me off, since it's the latest completely unnecessary war.

Re: The Absurd and Whimsical Humour of Vladimir "Dobby" Putin

UMMMM. In context, I was clearly mocking Per for concluding Russia is guilty of blowing up that damn dam. I said nothing about "targeting civilians with missiles" or whether or not Putin should be tried in a war crimes tribunal. I guess I misunderstood your 'eyeroll' at war crimes, then ;) As for C...

Strahgelov loves Putin - his orange hero told him to. ;)

I'm not up on the latest international law, but I consider targeting civilians with missiles is a war crime, that Stranglov's red hero is guilty of.

Which draft pick was the biggest miss for the Canucks?

May as well get the "Hindsight" thread going! :D Hopefully we're posting about our 2023 pick here in a couple of years. I'm going to go with Luc over Anze - despite the bike crash, there's a chance (more hindsight) that Kopitar would have helped us a LOT in 2011. I was fairly shocked when we picked ...

Re: 2022/23 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs

Florida obviously switched off in the ten-day layoff. The league ruined the final this year. Agreed - I hate the stupid long layoffs - and for what?? Non-existent TV revenue on TBS? :D Next game is Friday, in case anyone is still watching. My Sportsnet app says Thursday..... still stupid. They just...
