Re: 2025 Canucks Off-season
no. Like I said not quit top six. Is bottom 9 better? I don't see us as having a true top six. So bottom nine and top 3?? I see our "top" 6 being Pettersson, Kane, Boeser. Chytle, DeBrusk, Garland. BTW. You know well what I mean so give it a rest. Yes Wids. Bottom 9 is better because it is exactly ...

Re: 2025 Canucks Off-season
Perhaps a Suter replacement if they could land him for the money they wanted to pay Suter. Whatever that was. Middle 9 players can always be found. It’s true top six that are harder. Alvin has done a good job every year finding bottom 6 middle 9 type players. In fact we have some in Abby. ...

Re: AROUND THE LEAGUE - 25-26
There’s the argument that an elite 18 year old artificially inflates his production and thereby his perceived potential because he is making 16-19 year olds, who will never make even the AHL, look ridiculous. While on the other side of the border elite 18 year olds are up against older players and h ...

Classic Canucks.
Draft a guy, he projects like he’s going to become a regular NHL’er…..perhaps even a rather good one, but we have to trade him because of poor managerial decisions

Re: Ownership and Management
Horvat sounds like he was born to play for weird Lou Lamorello Bo is on the straight laced side, for sure. Not Blobbee’s kinda wingman when prowling the DTES if you know what I mean. Imagine having to do everything that little soft shelled turtle looking motherfucker says to unlock your cake. No w ...

Re: Ownership and Management
The best part of those two is that both players landed in Florida and won a Cup together.Cousin Strawberry wrote: ↑Sun Jul 06, 2025 9:46 am Trading Forsling and the OEL acquisition.

Re: Free Agent "Frenzy" Day
There's no need to shoehorn him into the AHL at 18 or even 19. Let him be a kid instead of forcing him into that meat grinder. There's no shortage of assholes wanting to rip a high draft pick's head off his shoulders when they are still just boys. Klimovich, Sushi, Podkolzin ......Let him score 100 ...

Re: Free Agent "Frenzy" Day
Cootes will do this year in the W and maybe get in a few AHL/NHL games depending on his season goes. Next season I can see him 100% in the AHL with more time in NHL. I think this is reasonable with my rose coloured glasses on. at worse he spends 1 more year in the W and then comes up but I see the ...

Re: 2025 Canucks Off-season
Hey Petey, learn something from your country brethren on discipline, old man Sedins gave the Canucks whipper snapper prospects a 10 minute head start on the grouse grind and beat them all. Can we not just suit up the Twins this year? We're not scoring any goals anyway, they can just cycle the life ...

Re: Free Agent "Frenzy" Day
Draft +1 or even +2 is probably unrealistic. Not impossible but not something we should expect. We could maybe look no further than our last 10-15th OA picks as parallels. Although Willander is a little different given he's a D, who normally take longer, and amateured in college. Whereas ...

Re: Free Agent "Frenzy" Day
Based on what I have read, he seems like a 2/3 year away prospect. He will likely make the club as a regular in 2027-28…..and score 25-30 points. If he tracks as expected the following year will see a big jump similar to other comparable players and he will be in the 40-50 point range…..and hop ...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26
Small Euro scorer who thrived on big ice with lots of room but isn't seeing it translate over to the North American rink at the pro level for all of the reasons that UW listed while I was typing . It's not a stretch to say he won't pan out as a top-6 NHL forward. Happens all the time. In fact it is ...

Re: Free Agent "Frenzy" Day
Ehlers to Carolina. Six years at an AAV of $8.5 million. Not disappointed he didn't sign in Vancouver. Not that it's a wild overpayment, but just doesn't seem like the right fit for that money. Brock comes cheaper (AAV-wise, but a year longer), and Ehlers doesn't play centre. We'll see if that's ...
