Re: 2026 NHL Draft

To have someone who may star for team Canada one day!!! That would be nice.

Didn't Parker Alcos commit to the NCAA next season?

Re: 2026 NHL Draft

Ya McKenna is showing why he has been so highly ranked. He has a nasty streak to boot. When you watch him play he rarely smiles, all business. Gets pissed easily when he misses a shot. I think he is the real deal and maybe the closest we will have to having another franchise player after Hughes left ...

Just remind him that there is a high chance we draft Sternberg.

Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26

A tragic season for Chyle. I feel for the guy. Hopefully he has a good off season and can come back ready to go. Perhaps the shot to the face is a blessing in disguise for him. I wonder whose idea it was to take him back in the Miller trade  Wewould have been better off with a 4th round pick.

Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26

Even if the X-rays are negative shut this guy down for crying out loud. Let him get a head start on next season if he is intent on still playing. What is the value to keep playing him???? Like he will have a stellar back half, stay healthy and be tradable in the off season? Give it up already.

Re: Tanking

I actually think players don't tank. I highly doubt a lot of coaches would intentionally tank. Now a GM is really the only one who can organize a tank and then only byu successfully acquiring the right players and mix of players. That takes time. I agree that we never set out to tank, ever. This ...

Re: Tanking

Still think every non-playoff team should get two picks in a snaked draft before the playoff teams make their first. Get rid of tanking completely. Have an equal odds lottery for all non-playoff teams. First lottery ball picked gets picks 1&32, next gets picks 2&31…until the last lottery ball gets p ...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26

With LA's current cap space plus Fiala done for the season they can comfortably add Pettersson now and not have to wait until the off season when Kopitar is off the books. We won't get 2 1sts for him. Maybe if we throw in Kane 50% retained we might. That is if LA wants to make a push. But a 1-2 ...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26

Fiala is out for the season. He might boost the trade value of our UFAs. Or, does LA sit tight, and wait for next year. They are 4 points behind 4 teams for 8th. Or, does this boost the chance LA decides to grab a piece like DeBrusk/Boeser? I love the olympics, but, we always get a few injuries to ...

Re: Tanking

Nothing should be done to change the system until after we have had a chance to draft top 3 for 2-3 years. Then make all the changes you want!! Its a hard balance. You have teams on both spectrums, those that are good and try every year and those that just suck year after year and maybe once in 10 ...

Re: Tanking

Ya it’s hard to argue that they have a plan. They are reactive. They are delusional. They knew Hughes was gone, or highly suspected it, at least 18 months ago. Instead of thinking about a rebuild then they doubled down on trying to make moves that might induce Hughes to stay.

They have no real plan.

Re: Tanking

Deliberate tanking can be hard to prove. We all know it happens and has happened for generations. Every now and then a generational player comes along and there is always a fight for the bottom. Edmonton got away with it causing draft rule changes. Pittsburgh got away with it several times. Our ...

Re: Immediate Timeline for the Rebuild

Ya to replace them mid-season would be difficult. You can't get permission to speak to people until the end of the season. Ideally if you do replace them you want to do so well before the draft to give the new guy(s) a chance to assess the team and to develop some type of relationship with the ...
