Re: Immediate Timeline for the Rebuild

Ya to replace them mid-season would be difficult. You can't get permission to speak to people until the end of the season. Ideally if you do replace them you want to do so well before the draft to give the new guy(s) a chance to assess the team and to develop some type of relationship with the ...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

Throw him at a wall in Abby and see if he sticks. If he can cover the ice well enough at that size, he's worth a flyer on the 4th line - assuming the organization has moved on from Raty. At this point, no one no matter how young should feel that they're job is safe. More like they will move on from ...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26

Now That Brock Boeser is engaged to his long time girlfriend from Vancouver I imagine he isn't going to be waiving anytime soon.

Re: Immediate Timeline for the Rebuild

Well we have no real pressure to try to unload our vets with term. But if they can manage to do so and grab another 1st along the way and maybe another prospect or two why not. Those with term are going to be selective about where they go to so even a 1st will be later in the round. The only real ...

Re: 2026 NHL Draft

I am sure he and is family are relieved. Hopefully he learns a valuable lesson and how fragile his future career goals can be. He can’t be goaded into this shit no matter how honourable his intentions. He is still very young and no doubt will mature. From a hockey perspective teams will do their due ...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26

With Ottawa surrendering their 1st OA this year it is safe to assume that the Minny pick will be one higher than where they finish. If we finish 32nd then we will also draft 32 OA as it will slide to be the first pick in the 2nd round.

Re: 2026 Pre-TDL Thread

As we get closer to TDD the Canucks will take best offer for Kane, Blueger and Kampf. They might take best offer for Garland, as long as it is a good offer, rather than let him get to his trade protection. Those with trade protection and term may have to wait. They can still be traded after the TDD ...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26

Interesting view point from Blueger. Just reinforces my point on why he should be targeted in the off season. Work ethic, tenacity, leadership and experience to help guide the next generation. He’s solid on the draw and reliable on the PK. Any offence he supplies is a bonus. Character. Then extend h ...

Re: SOL-Re: GDT - Leaves @ Tanks Jan 31/2026 @ 4:00pm PST SN CBC

On the bright side, the leaves winning a few games here may give them the impression they can still make the playoffs, which they won’t, and make them hesitant to compete with the Canucks in the TDL sell off. Kane and Kampf have little enough trade value, reducing comparable options is a good thing. ...

Re: Podcasts

Ya Walsh has made it clear for awhile now that Hronek will not waive. I'm ok with that. He is an elite Dman and provides a steady presence for us. We do need to keep some vets and the ones like Hronek provide value for the duration of their contract and can help in a rebuild. In 2028 his trade ...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26

Yes this is my concern. Would like them to trade some vets, clear some cap, weaponize that cap by bringing back some older vets with expiring contracts or 1-2 year term at the most. Send all players down with waiver eligibility and let Manny work with them.

Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26

You do realize we could mathematically still finish first overall in the standings. All we have to do is win out the next 29 games.

But seriously, I cannot believe how far back we are of, well, everybody.

Get on with the trades. I guess things wont heat up until after the Olympics.
