Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26

It’s linked, repeatedly, in the other one - because presumably there are no other sources for these claims. And Mëds, any GM evaluating players based on gossip pieces should probably not be making hockey ops decisions, I’m sure some do but what a way to operate. Anyway, in my view a couple of seas ...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26

That MSN article is just the Patrick Johnston article, with even more reaching. Personally I think if the franchise is serious about rebuilding, unless Petterson is a genuine locker room cancer (and not just a persnickety little weirdo who is hard to work with) you’ve got to just run a couple of y ...

Re: AROUND THE LEAGUE - 25-26

Yeah I thought was he was retiring when he left, not sure if that was legit and he likes to do the odd game to stay involved? Or if someone else retired him from the Canucks broadcast team and he’s just taking what he can get.

Yep, he seems to be doing the odd Flames and Jets game these past couple of years.

Re: 2026 NHL Draft

And at the end of the day, this organization needs at least one (probably more) exceptional players. It wouldn't bother me at all if the Canucks approach to drafting (hopefully) 3 first rounders next summer is ceiling, ceiling, and ceiling. Great post and I generally can't disagree, and yeah for 3 ...

Re: 2026 NHL Draft

Yeah - I think McKenna is the type of prospect you just take if they are on the board and don't overthink. I'd love to have Verhoeff or Stenberg as a consolation prize too, so a bottom five finish and lukewarm luck at the draft lottery (seems achievable!) could really fast track a rebuild. After ...

Ooooh, I likey
I am still trying to figure out the formula where the Canucks play well, win (hate to cheer for a loss) but still finish 32 OA.
We need a European soccer league-style points deduction.

Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26

How do you do it UW, two quality posts (one of them a novella) while I was double checking stats to write five sentences taking Mëds comment apart. Anyway I agree, there won’t be much “regression to the mean” and we’re likeliest to see movement in the standings based on trades and injuries - I love t ...

But if so, more likely prioritize California teams for his family? As posted yesterday. LA to replace Kopitar. And...oh oh looky looky...his line chemistry pal Kuz plays there too!!!! Well would you look at that: @mndamico: Sources indicate that Phil Danault has asked for a tradein LA. His camp ...

Re: 2026 NHL Draft

If they flip that pick for an older player (and it's not an obvious step up in terms of asset management, like a Cutter Gauthier-caliber prospect forcing a trade or something) then this is officially a retool and not a rebuild IMO. Which would be deeply disappointing if I felt like I had any right ...

Re: 2026 NHL Draft

LMAO that is inconsistent with what this franchise is  and also unfortunately impossible - only teams that miss the playoffs are in the draft lottery - so we'll have to stick to hoping it's our ball drawn and that we can hit a home run in the mid-20s.. not likely, but not unheard of either ...

Re: 2026 NHL Draft

Good point - and I don't see them winning the div. over the Avs, - and though they have a great defense now, there is a bit of lack of forward depth and injuries might prevent them from getting out of the 1st rd. At this point, it is hard not to see a Dallas/Minny 1st rd. match up - honestly, I can ...
