Forever emBOLDen in Canucks HT history.
This board likely never saw that much web hits since. Minor internet sensation he was...

Demko got the memko.

I can live with Tolo and Lank the rest of the way.

Re: The Petey Predicament

Yeah, Tops, I don't think anybody inside or out of the organization ever thought of pinning the C on Petey - for all the reasons you mention below. He was never going to be that face of the franchise. What baffles is me is that management evidently chose Petey over Hughes, who was their captain. If ...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

AaronP, you labelled Cootes as a potential 2/3 centre and looking at Cootes in the WJHC I would say you're probably right - if a little optimistic. He profiles as a Horvat-lite. Lotsa hustle; good two-way play by the eye-test; can put the puck in from the bumper; but not enough skill or skating to ...

Re: 2026 NHL Draft

I think ownership would be scared of a fan revolt if the team won the first overall pick for the first time in its history, only to turn around and trade it - even for the third pick.

Re: The Petey Predicament

Tip o' the hat to Tops for the homework. What strikes me is that, with all the evidence that we're aware of them having before them, they still decided to extend Petey even if it meant potentially alienating the rest of the core. Evidently, they prioritized Petey over all - even Hughes. This, even ...

Re: AROUND THE LEAGUE - 25-26

lol. Now this is teamwork. Also a bit concerning regarding Team Canada. After the Blackhawks scored their 7th of the game, Jim Montgomery tried to pull Jordan Binnington for Joel Hofer... But Binnington appeared to refuse to come off the ice, and Hofer was hiding down the tunnel to the Blues ...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26

Indeed. Even if management does draft a cohort of young stars or difference-makers that end up due for big raises that make it hard to fit them under the cap, management can still trade them for help elsewhere or further draft pick/prospect capital. At least they would have a valuable asset that ...

Re: AROUND THE LEAGUE - 25-26

Could not play for us that kid though. Appears to be doing just fine with Tocchy. Briere rolled the dice on the kid, likely betting that the kid really did need a blank slate in a new place. Looks like the trade also served as a moment of clarity for Zegras to round out his game and grow up ...

A down year for the US National Development Team - only four Americans in that first round and none of them from the National program. Even fewer Russians, with the only one playing in the NCAA. Dunno what’s going on in the KHL; wonder if it’s the league suffering from the war in Ukraine money-wise ...

That and the Jack Johnson hire really do suggest an old-boys club that looks after their own. Wonder how the ladies hired the last couple of years are dealing with it?

Myers definitely. He would likely be hilarious on a good sativa. Jake definitely gives off a bit of a stoner vibe. I mean, the guy collects Pokemons so odds are he's not "Pabst Blue Ribbon or a Rum&Coke after the game" kind of guy. Kane likely dabbles but probably thinks it's too low-rent in terms ...

And you can’t take the easy shot with Boeser. :P
