Opens today in Penticton - anyone going?
Here's the roster to start camp:
https://www.nhl.com/canucks/news/canuck ... amp-roster
33 forwards, 17 D-men, and 7 Goalies. I guess that's enough to ice 2 teams?
It will be interesting to see if the cuts come fast or they take their time. In the past, I've always wanted them to make the obvious cuts and get on with the process of working the real team into game shape. This year, I don't care - let the top prospects spend as much time as they can with the big club, then send them down.
Management has said they don't plan to 'Yo-yo' players this year. If they come up, it's because they've earned it and they'll stay. (exceptions for injury call-ups, I'm guessing).

Considering they only have 4 days… they may keep for scrimmage like you say and then let them go or demote whichever the case may be…

Of the 7 goalies, Demko is not included in the two groups (A/B)

Just as well. The fear with him is that he'd get healthy and get back to his Vezina-calibre self - just as the organization is at the depths of a rebuild, where his play would be worse than wasted, it could actually be detrimental to the club in the big picture. We have him till 28-29, so no need to rush him.

Most of Abby is at the training camp. I like this as both teams will be running the same system. Its been a while since we have seen that.
And in response to Demko, he is skating wit the other 2 injured dudes in a pre session.

Most of Abby could easily be called up this season too.

Is it just me or does it seem there is more optimism and happiness this year at training camp.

Zero expectations brings joy - words to live by.

All I hear is "Lowered Expectations" from that skit from MadTV in the 90s.
Actually a solid team motto for 26/27.

The drama is gone.
The drama surrounding Scooter not living up to his contract…..management has said there are no expectations for him to be anything more than who he is. So everyone is expecting a guy getting paid ~ $200K per point and apparently good with it.
There’s no focus on moves being made to keep a star player who made it clear a year ago that he wasn’t re-signing.
Demko isn’t g2g…..so the team is expecting to have to score 4 goals a night to win. Something they cannot possibly do, so again no pressure.
Additions of guys like Schenn, Ole, and Gallagher, are big contributors to a happier room.

Exactly, there is no pressue on this teams - they're ranked last and any positives will be celebrated.
Compared to last year's expectations:

We know it'll be another dumpster fire. But, I bought a few packets of campfire sparklers, so this time, it'll be more entertaining.
Seriously, I predict 78 points.

I'm thinking it will be more of a controlled burn this year.
78 points is doable (with the extra 2 games this year)
