L-Absolute Guaranteed Win Night! Philly @ Van - 7pm PST SNP

Post by JelloPuddingPop »

The return of Tocchey Hockey

Maybe both teams will just sit in the neutral zone and stare daggers at each other while discussing the "process."

1-0 Van, Demko with the SO.

If the trend continues, it looks like the worst the Canucks can do is 8th best lottery odds if they go on a winning streak and just miss the playoffs. If they do better than that, they make the playoffs, which ain’t so bad. The East is way better than the West this year in the overall standings. It looks like the top 8 lottery slots will all be western teams. I don’t think the Canucks will be as bad as they were to start the season unless there are trades made quickly to help the tank, or the injury bug returns. Finishing last isn’t likely, so may as well start cheering for wins again. Worst case is either the Canucks make the playoffs and get crushed, or they just miss the playoffs and get the 8th best lottery odds.

That’s a long winded way of saying the downside risk isn’t so bad from the Canucks current perspective, so I’m hopping off the tank.

7-0: Canucks crush Walk It Talk It.

The 4 game heater after Hughes was dealt is not an unprecedented response from a team after that sort of shakeup.

In the month of December….

Prior to Hughes being traded we were 1-4-0

Post Hughes we are 5-2. In 4 of those wins we saw a highly unsustainable shooting %. The game in Beantown saw the Canucks outshot nearly 2:1 (42-24 I believe it was).

The Flyers made us look ghastly last week.

The only games where I feel like we saw expected results, based upon the play of both teams, are that game in Philly and last night in Seattle.
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

Still on the tankwagon but I can't generate enough willpower to watch or keep up as much with threads here.

Honestly, you should try. I’m enjoying the games more now. I can’t help but pull for a few of these guys to do well individually.

I want to see Rossi, Buium, and the Swedish Ogre, succeed and light shit up. But I don’t care if the outcome lands in the L column…..in fact I prefer it for the sake of the future.

And as a longtime fan of the team, if the Canucks go 10-34 over the rest of the season, but all the L’s are 3-2 or 4-2 with Demmer managing a 2.50 and .910+ SV%, and all the points are put up by Brock, Rossi, Buium, Garland, and Sherwood until he’s dealt for an overpayment…..life is good.
