I'll tell Jimmy what you think. I'm sure he'll be impressed.
Tell Jimmy what you think about Biega being better than Stone, Jimmy loves a good laugh!

I don't give a rats ass if Stecher stays or not. But you are trying to stick us with a 29 year old resurrection project at best.
You sign him for $700K - $1M if you can determine he's likely good to go.
Then if he doesn't cut the mustard you send him down and his salary doesn't count on the cap.

Its just time to accept the facts SL,
Stone was good .... two years ago, he like Petrovic would be ok as a #7 dman el cheapo, stock plummeting.
If he's healthy he's a solid hard-hitting 3rd-pairing PK-killing defenceman.
Calgary wouldn't have bought him out if they weren't in cap hell.

Well, generally speaking, nobody buys anybody out unless they're in cap hell.
But he was the clear top candidate, even when healthy in 17/18 he played under 17 min a game, and had gone from 36 points to 10 points.
Stone has been declining for 3 straight years, culminating in the injury-shortened season. At this point, I'd be a little surprised if he's even in the NHL next year.
I'd take him on as a Luke Schenn-type - park him on the farm, recall and see if he rekindles his career when injuries strike. But I don't think he's an everyday NHLer at this point.

.
Maybe they think they'll be a forward or so short.

That right there is dumbass putting the cherry on top of his lineup. The cup is theirs
With 0% nhl success Andersen must finally be ready for his first career playoff win

as an aside.
Stone will be Brad Treliving's 6th buyout as #Flames GM,
and the 4th of a deal he signed (following Bouma, Raymond and Brouwer).
But, he sure structured the contract nicely. Stone was a cheap buy-out, as there were no bonuses, or front loading of $$. GMJB could take note.

I think both roussel, and beagle have contracts that can easily be bought on their final years

There are reasons for front loading + bonuses obviously.

I do not see a projection for team defense yet. Irrelevant anyway because we would be ranked below the top 16.
Inconsequential too because projections rarely take coaching, team systems and admirable defensive play by forwards
into their regurgitations.
We upgraded.
Who are the fastest skating Canuck defense men?
