Looks like the website 'fell back' timewise, even if the province did not.

We're out of sync. :o

I noticed that too, Megs.

Some of my apps aren't synched to the region's time and are an hour behind.

My gawd, this is worse than Y2K.

No, this is not a PT Predicament but a PST predicament. Blame Megs for posting here :D

A shame he took this long to start getting his game back, but I’m not convinced it would have changed the end result. Quitt was leaving regardless, it seems.

There’s a role for Pettersson sheltering whatever future top-6 forwards come up over the next 2-3 years. He still has a NMC, so trading him is not so straightforward. We may be stuck with this guy until the end of this contract.

If we’re stuck with him, at least he’s not the offensive liability he has been the past couple seasons. Maybe there is a role for him in the rebuild beyond being a trade piece.

The goal needs to be to divest themselves from this guy as quickly and quietly as possible. He had gone dark once before and found his way out luckily so it'll reoccur with almost 100% certainty

He will need a nudge I'm sure but there is no reason to hang onto his ass. If you can get a mid round first then you make it so

There's some rumours about LA being a destination for him. Not sure if anyone here has mentioned that yet.....

I don’t think they want Cootes or C. Malhotra taking the top line centre role right off the bat.
Petey won’t be traded until one of those guys transition into top six centres, mid next season at the very earliest.
Rossi, Chytil and Sasson are not cut out for that job.
Petey is still their best forward.

Aside from his NMC, this would be the biggest reason to keep him. No need for Malhotra or Cootes getting their heads caved-in facing off against the likes of McDavid, Eichel in their rookie years - no matter how Manny tries to shelter them.

He wasn't good enough to keep the former core successful. Maybe his greatest contribution to the team will be helping them through the rebuild as a player vice trade piece.

That's going to be the dilemma moving forward - maybe in a year or two, we'll be able to replace him internally, or via trade - but for now I don't see us getting a high first-round pick for him. Unless there's a great package coming back, his current play is more valuable to us now. Even PPGPetey won't win too many games on his own.
