Not really convincing, and Demmer is a risk to the team’s lottery standings, but a W is a W, and the new kids played a significant part in it.

Hope we’ll see better next season, but there is room for hope here.

Is there a post season team with a legit Cup chance that would make a trade like this?

Edmonton has blown their load.

Montreal is struggling in net but there is no real Cup shot there yet.

Ducks but again to early.

Detroit maybe but we'd have to take Gibson back and pretty sure he has a no move.

Kings maybe.

Carolina I guess would be the one "real" contending team that might be interested.

What would you ask for from LA or Carolina?

I was thinking about Sherwood to Dallas earlier today. It might make sense.

Well as for Demko, we all know IF HE STAYS HEALTHY he is a Vezina type goalie. He has 3 years after this one. So if he looks to be healthy that may entice a team other than a tope tier contender to take the risk. A team just on the outside but with average goaltending may see him as a piece to get over the hump. Montreal does come to mind. Pittsburgh if they are serious about another cup before the end of the Crosby/Malkin era. I dunno. So much depends upon him being healthy right.

But the same can be said for us I guess. If he is healthy he can make a difference for us in a big way. I just think after trading Hughes you have the perfect opportunity to continue to rebuild and get some good picks and prospects back. Otherwise it seems like half measures again. Go all in for the rebuild and accumulate picks for this and next year. Get a couple more good young kids that can step in now and a couple of decent prospects too.
