The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

Several months ago I mentioned a talk I watched on geothermal energy project in Canada. The talk focuses on a project to heat an aquatic centre in Regina but briefly mentions some other projects and the situation here in BC. The talk explains the theory and summarizes the technology as well as looking at the economics and regulatory frameworks.

Unfortunately the Regina project is tied up in Grant funding from what has become the Green Energy Slush Fund after those managing it were caught giving their own companies Grants.

It is the first talk listed, worth an hour to watch. Cathy Hickson is a good speaker and a bonus, she was at Mt St Helens when it blew in 1980 and it was her still pictures that formed the short movie of the eruption.

The Trans Mountain Pipeline expansion has been operating for 3 months and is looking to be a great success.

Interestingly, 1/2 those evil DilBit tankers out of Burrard Inlet are California bound.

If Kinder Morgan had been allowed to complete it instead of Justin running them off with legal challenges and regulation...

I wonder what the sale price to the aboriginals will be?

Aside, the Supreme Court and the Aboriginal NGO's will be the biggest challenge for the Conservative Party's plan to expand and fast track resource development to correct the Canadian economy.

Do people realize that the Courts have mandated that the proponent of a project has to fund the Aboriginal case against the project. This is a great incentive for the consulting NGO's and lawyers not to settle and a massive disincentive for anyone to propose a project.
