They had to rid themselves of their worldly possessions and sever ties with their families.The disciples shared everything.
As the religion spread a lot of Romans had a problem with that, so Paul changed the rules and allowed private property again.
But there was a lot of debate about that aspect that you can find in the Pauline Epistles.
But what does that have to do with anything?

Nothing on this here message board makes me chuckle and roll my eyes more than reading Per’s posts. I swear nobody likes to hear themselves talk more than him, and nobody around here has a higher opinion of their own intelligence.
He’s an atheist who tells theists what they believe.
He’s a socialist from across the pond who loves to tell North Americans what their culture is actually all about.
I mean, you have to be pretty high on yourself to conduct yourself the way this guy does. He would be a shoe-in as a Liberal MP candidate.

Yeah... I'm not a socialist though. Never voted for the social democrats nor the left party.
At present I'm leaning toward the green party. They are the only ones who do not want to subsidise fossil fuels.
Now THAT's socialism, having the government artificially lower fuel prices to appease the masses.
