I think we should sacrifice Chytil to the hockey gods. May the odds forever be in your favour.

Would a Chytil bobblehead be in bad taste? Asking for a friend.

Nope. Sometimes the best thing a flower can do is die.

Crack that dude’s skull like the eggshell it is and make a quiche worthy of the Hockey Gods.

I like it. Teach a man to fish....but, crack open his skull, and we have dip for the whole gang.

To summarize...

McKenna-Pananrin

Stenberg- Hagel

Lever and Mëds if Stenberg can evolve into a Hagel type that's a pretty solid swede. I'd have to consider if I take that over a panarin type

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/254 ... mock-draft
Brandon Hagel: 446 GP 371 PTs

Artemi Panarin: 830 GP 954 PTs

McKenna went the NCAA route to be challenged and develop the more difficult areas of the game.

I'm not even entertaining Stenberg if we're picking first overall.

That’s like the HGs giving us a do-over, sends TFGs back to the inaugural season with the wheel spinning our way over Buffalo….

…and we select Dale Tallon 1st overall.

I'm hearing TFG's™ have three separate lists for their draft order.

Hagel is considered the better player though. Maybe he's younger a bit I dunno but he was a big part of TC, drives one of the top teams play, is gritty af, etc

Hagel is Canadian.

Racist!

I get it but forsberg wasn't Canadian...you'd never know it

IS isn't Elias Pettersson. The paranoia is understandable but you have to see each player as their own entity

Forsberg, Sundin, Lidstrom, Zetterberg, Hedman, Lundqvist.....I've run out of names.

Salming, Nilsson, Samuelsson (Ulf and Mikael), Ohlund, D &H Sedin...there are plenty of heart and soul swedes who don't quit on their teams

Judging and skipping picking this kid because Elias Pettersson quit competing is nuts considering he's on par with McKenna if not the better player

As I was reading your post, I was going to respond with something similar to what you ended with nicely.

If he was Canadian, we would view him as the player that Lindros could've been if not for the injuries and inconsistencies that derailed the latter stages of his career. Regardless, he was never revered in our country so I'm not sure if he would've reached the heights of the other legends. But talk about a unicorn, if that guy didn't define the term. Someone that big, physical and imposing, who can put up numbers with the best of them until it went south.

OV was that guy. Though not exactly the same kind of player. He was obviously a better sniper being the GOAT in that category, but the size and underrated physical game profiles similarly. Ultimately it was his consistency and longevity that separates him from the pack.

So there's truth to what you ended with. If he popped in a big goal or two wearing the red and white, I think we would easily make room for him on a second Mt. Rushmore with Sid and Connor. The first Mount is literally set in stone and can't be touched.

Btw, Hagel is beast.

The compete on this guy is off the charts. I watch him and wonder why it is that we never ever get players like this that hits, fights, scratches, claws, at anything and everything in order to win. And has the offence to go along with it. (OK, there's Steamer and Burrows, and maybe a few others but too few, too far between.)

A 6th round draft and he's now used as a comparison for a 2nd overall.

We're talking about someone you would consider taking with the 1st overall pick.

Player comparisons are subjective anyway. We're not exactly deciding between Hagel and Panarin.

Good chance all moot anyway when we get 3rd.
