Now I haven't read the whole thread so maybe this is answered.
If the earth was simply expanding wouldn't all tectonic plates be divergent?

Anyone out there with a camera, some fruit, a microwave, and NO WIFE??
Ummm...Fartz?

Pretty sure he has a 1080P microwave...and definitely no wife...might not have a camera though, maybe he can borrow ODs

Yes.

No (ridiculous) subduction with this theory!

Please explain the Tethys fossils in the Cache Creek Teranne.

Well how are the Rockies, Himalayan and Andes formed then?

Well I
might just do that Toppy!
But first I need you to answer the question in my OP.
You're a geologist so be a pal. And remember: the CHEH is empirically irrefutable!
Also, if I may be so bold, where do you geologists get off claiming subduction with NO MECHANISM?
Sounds more like SCIENCE FICTION than SCIENCE....

Well I'm no expert on this theory.... I just stumbled upon it whilst researching the theory in the OP.
But I suppose they say the same (unknown) forces which caused the Earth to expand brought dem dere mountains into existence....
BTW, "unknown forces" allegedly cause subduction according to the Plate Tectonics Theory.

Okay Toppy, a quick search tells me the proponents of the Expanding Earth Theory explain that kinda crap away by writing it off to past cataclysm(s). Sooo basically the same way those who believe in the orthodox theories splain things away.

Wait a sec AP. Upon further research, I believe they're saying the change in curvature (smaller Earth to bigger Earth) would create enough of a stress factor to cause yer... Rockies, Himalayan and Andes... to form.
Makes sense actually....

Possibly, but the way I see it if the world was increasing in circumference it would stretch out anything on the surface.
Seems to me like if there was extra area for the earths crust to move it would flatten out.

Hey Doc! I saw this:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-14135523, and thought of you (was wondering where you'd gotten to after the release). Mmm pasta, absolutely irrefutable (especially with lobster sauce), right?

If the earth is expanding................does that mean the sky is falling?

Softer innards, somewhat harder shell.
Crumbling effect = mountains.
Hmmm sounds like you need to give this more thought big guy.
A LOT more thought....

If there
is a God, He can't be happy with Me for liking you...
Welcome, let's make a pact never to mention you-know-who and you-know-wot.
Yes I went away for awhile but I'm much better now.

Yes, unless you believe in both the Expanding Earth theory AND the Concave Hollow Earth Hypothesis.
In which case, of course, it's just the opposite.
