I'd say he should start the season on the farm and work for the call up. He's close but why rush anything.

They need to find one of them big’un centres off waivers to replace Chytil. Cootes needs to go win some games in Abbotsford. He doesn’t need to be part of this team’s constant losing. RJ needs to do right by the kid and let him develop properly.
This team is so bad. Before this game I was worried they were going to be better than the Flames. Obviously that’s not the case.

Please, for Cootes’ sake, keep him in Abby this year. Staying up with this bunch on the fourth line will likely demoralize him.
