The PP only had 3 min compared to EDmonton getting 10 min.
Demko is overworked after two games.
Pettersson is on pace for 41 points.
The sky is falling. The sky is falling!
Give it 15 to 20 games......or don't I guess.

EP40 was 3/15 on the faceoff last night...
What the fuck!
Yeah. And going into the final 5 minutes of the game only had 13 minutes of TOI. He ended up out on the ice for 3:30 of that final 5, but clearly even his own coach wasn’t impressed enough with him.

Demko put in one of the best performances I've seen from a goalie in recent memory. He is definitely back to vezina form. A tremendous equalizer for Vancouver.
Cootes needs to develop in the dub and look at next fall for his jump. He's game and works his ass off but now is not the time to keep him up with the Canucks. With a capable Sasson waiting in the wings, now is not the time
I think they're going to need to shuffle the lines around to get some guys going. I'd put Kane with Pettersson to kick the tires and light the fires. Someone needs to get the pipe cleaner invested into games more than that...maybe having a couple of nice guys as linemates isn't quite the match to ignite his furnace?

A quarter season is a pretty fair standard for an assessment period no Mëds?
I mean, there are a number of new & moving parts to this group, we need, I think, to see where it's all at, say by mid-November and then Chefadjust from there.
No?
I also think we (those who carry issue with him) have to make the effort to push our jaundiced opinions of the skinny fella out of the equation for now.
The result last night was disappointing sure but the Oilers weren't going to lose that one.
Let's see if they reccover for da Blues Monday or lay a Turkey on the table.

It wasn’t just EP, the whole team looked off except Demko. Chytil went from hero to goat last night. Would like to see a coach hold players more accountable for bone head plays.

Two of the players who shone against the Flames made the errors that led to the oiler goals (Chytil and Garland), and Chytil made other can’t-make mistakes (penalty down 1 with 6 mins left) and Garland was unusually invisible.
I actually thought Cootes was better. He’s really quite good for an 18 year old at defense off the puck. His group got stuck
out more than one due to icings (by grenade launching Myers) but kept up. Sure one shift they were rag dolled by McDavid and Draisitl, but give me a line that doesn’t happens to on occasion.
Demko was great and when he is the team can be in games. Just need someone other than Hughes and Chytil to try to generate offense. I like Boeser and Sushi’s abilities off the puck in the offensive zone, but Garland, Pettersson, these guys have to stir occasionally or it’s a flaccid offense.
EP40 isn’t a twig anymore. It doesn’t matter. It’s always been about moving feet and having some mojo with the puck for him. Too stationary doesn’t work….

For clarity my post wasn't meant to suggest it was EP Reef.
I personally don't want to talk about that player at all right now.
At the quarter pole maybe.
It was meant to suggest to my friend Mëds that we temper that conversation for 20 games or so whole assessing what we have as well as any nip and tuck changes Management make over that time period.

Man can that Lekkerimaki rip the disc eh?!
Quick release as well.

I'm aware and agree.
Upper body wise anyway.
He still looks weak and awkward lower body to me.
Will continue to watch and assess before chastising if it comes to that.

Well I’ll stop talking about him if you will.

My comment to Blob regarding the 20 games was not only in reference to that guy we aren’t talking about right now.
It was in general towards the Canucks as a team. Too often we have said that, and I think that “tolerance” for slow starts and commitment to overrated players, is part of the problem. There is no real urgency for ownership to build something great here when the team gets support regardless of performance.
It feels like this team has had Vancouver Grizzlies level mismanagement over the last decade.

Yeah...I'm not a fan of the current regime either.
Still looking to see what I see for 20 before launching myself into these debates.
And yes, I hesitated with respect to my EP response to UW.
I figured someone would say something lol.
But UW puts a lot of effort into thorough, considered posts here and imo doesn't not get a reasonable roi.
So I, for one, will try and do so moving forward.

The top line speed is too average - not a fan of Boeser with Petey. They should put Chytil with Boeser and Garland with Petey as the cores in the top two lines. Then experiment with a third on those top two lines. Keep rotating wingers until someone shows some chemistry, not at all confident DeBrusk or Kane are the answers.

I'd be inclined to throw Kane with Petey if only to give him some room out there.

I thought Half-Peter looked slightly sluggish last night; perhaps a little fatigued on the second night of back-to-backs. He is carrying extra weight on his skinny frame, and he's never been known for his conditioning. He might also be affected by the absent dressing room leadership of Ranger's captain JT Miller.
I guess we'll see how it goes next time eh.
