Hang in there, Reef! Sounds like quite the ordeal, but I hope you've been through the worst and it will get better from here.

As you wrote, modern medicine is constantly improving. Back when I was in high school leukemia was a death sentence. People who were diagnosed with it would perish within a year or two. Today this is no longer so. I hope you can still lead a long and productive life.

I’m rooting for you!

My best wishes for a speedy recovery. It sounds like early detection so hopefully you should be able to nip this in the bud.

Wow, I regret being AWOL for so long that I didn't keep up to the news. Also am one of those oldtimers who has been hanging around the CCs for 25 years with fellow alumni like Doc, Donny, BD, etc.

I always had an affinity for Doc and I always enjoyed his twisted humour and our often-times crude and immature jokes. He was one of the reasons that coming to either CCs so interesting and fun (at times). Kind of feel a bit empty right now.

I hope Reef and theman are doing better and please continue to battle. Don't stop fighting.... and that's also for the rest of you reprobates.

Man, this fuqin sucks and so sorry to hear. I waited a couple of week or so after the start of the season to post, hoping he would pop up and say something like: I knew you guys are a bunch of soft pussie, suckas!

I want to pay my respects as well. I gotta say, Strange is a great debater and has like a photo memory. He can remember what ppl said on this board like going years back. Stuff and details which most of us would deem not important and forget about. I will say this, if I needed a lawyer/agent to represent me, I'd hire him and want him to go to bat for me. As some1 else pointed out, his understanding/knowledge of the CBA is a good indicator of his mind/intelligence.

There was a stretch there when Strange and I were constantly at odds with each other. I'm glad that we got passed that and the last couple years have been much more civil & respectful. I started to enjoy reading his posts and replies again. I would like to think that both of us matured a bit. My condolences to his family and luved ones. I wish them peace and healing and all the best. There definitely is a big void on this board now with the Doc being no longer around.

Well, we got the Great Chief Skyo up there and now the Professor Strangelove is joining him. Hopefully with their advocation on our behalf before the hockey gods, we'll be due for a Cup here sooner rather than later. :towel:

Well, I’m adding to the list.

Last October I was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. I went the chemo route over the winter which sucked in a very big way. I had numerous trips to the ER with the various things that happen when the immune systems gets poisoned, I won’t go into the details but will if asked.

I’ve metastasized lesions that went to lymph nodes an adrenal gland and then finally to my brain.

We have radiation treatments on the brain lesions and being very small and no new ones have shown up. I am on immunotherapy from April on and it seems to be working and keeping things stable. So considering where I was this is a great outcome so far.

My case is not curable so it’s time we are fighting for…

There I’ve said it I feel better letting you all know..

So sorry to hear that. That must suck. :(

Here’s hoping the immunotherapy will work wonders!

Damn, Ratster... don't even know what to say...

We should all be fighting for time, no matter how good or bad our current situations are.

I know you got good times to keep fighting for. I'm rooting hard for you.
