Canada needs to slow down on their own Kool-aid. Without Eustaquio in the midfield and superstar Davies, the veteran clubfoots can barely make a pass and puts all the pressure on the young kids.
I've never been a huge fan of David and Larin on the pitch at the same time, stepping all over each other to do the same thing.
I do like Jesse Marsch's swagger, he can pull something out of these guys.
Let's see...
EDIT: as I type, it's now 2-0 for the Swiss.

2-1 Switzerland in the end, but Canada finishes second in the group and moves on to the round of 32.

Great first touch by Saliba on Canada's goal.

Canada denies entry to Ghanian midfielder Thomas Partey who is charged, not convicted of rape and sexual assault.
...but if he were associated with terrorists...
...Gold
Saw an article stating that Canada rejected 89% of visa applications from Ghana fans.
Queers for Palestine.

Just rewatched some of the highlights...
What a difference in the second half after the substitutions were made.
Pretty impressed by Saliba and Promise, who were just thrown into the fire.

Flew into town early this AM with half a dozen goobers going to the game who were decked out in all sorts of team garb head to toe....yes...including make up.
Flew home with the same goobers.
Had a helluva time despite the loss.....
Peeps are having fun with this WC shit....

Yeah, man.
Canada has always done a great job hosting world class events, leaving a positive mark with locals and visitors alike. Expo, Olympics and now the World Cup.
Canada and Mexico are just balling at this tournament. Fans loving the atmosphere here and in Mexico.
We're saving this for the world footy fans from the 'Murica embarrassment.

With South Africa up next we could legit make R3.
Is Davies gonna play or what?
Haven't been paying attention.

It's the knockout stage. Phonzie better nutt up and put on that leather jacket and come out of the phone booth.
Fuck man, Jesse Marsch better demand it.
He better make sure he has Eustaquio in the midfield. This is the weakest link. Without him and Kone, this team is piss-poor as you saw in the first half.
Trying to have J. David as a #10 setting up Larin is a terrible strategy. They lost so much possession under Swiss pressure and got countered... with the backline woefully caught out of position many times.
Ahmed and Buchanan were really disappointing, couldn't generate much off the wings.
Single elimination games from now on... fuckin' put the speed out there and attack. J. David striker. Get Davies in there. Short leash on the starting wingers. Promise, Schaffleburg on standby.
Let's fukin' go!

Right on Carl. Can't believe Davies didn't get a runout.

Sweden moves on after a draw with Japan, but will face France.
Amazingly, somehow Cape Verde - with a population of less than half a million - has also made it through the roundrobin and finished second in their group.

It was an exciting game but Canada need to tighten up their possession and not give the ball away so easily. Fortunately South Africa was even worse.
Davies looked frustrated at times with his teammates being out of position on his intricate give and go plays.
Netherlands Morocco later today will be interesting viewing to see how much of an underdog we will be.

Does anyone actually want to play Canada?
