It will be an interesting tournament, short. Anything can happen in that time. The team that gels together the fastest will come out on top and that’s why I believe Canada selected the players they did, not an All-Star team, it could work in Canadas favour.

The team is reflective on how a bad run of draft years from 2016 to 2020 for Canada was. Unfortunately we are back to producing some good talent again but most of if not all of them are just a tad not there yet.
Guys like Cozens, Patrick, Lafrenierre, Byfield, Dach, Hayton, Dubios, Glass, and other high picks in that time not panning out hurts

I should qualify that I’m not overly excited about this and don’t really consider it an international tournament. It’s just the NHL going for a bigger cash grab at the all star break. It’s all NHL players and none of them will be fully invested in it because they are also staring down the barrel of the home stretch of the regular season as soon as the tournament ends.
What happens when the US faces off against Sweden? Does Miller or Hughes take a run at Petey to save a goal and risk having him come back to Van in another funk?
Does Marner hang a knee on Matthews in a clutch moment with the game on the line?
Will Ekholm put McDavid on his ass at the blueline or down low?
This is best-on-best? Where are Kaprizov, Draisaitl, Ovie, Malkin, Pasta, Shestirken, and Vassy?
Should be a 6 Nations Cup with Russia and Europe being the other two teams…..but politics.
I’ll cheer for the players I like over the flag on the jersey in this one.
