The Mud Pit

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

"Why do folks pile on others if they don't beat the drum for the Bible"

Thanks Mëds, for interpreting the question.

Misery Guts is too busy trying to chase anyone away from the place that doesn't drink his Hatorade.

I didn't grow up in a religious family. I think there could be a higher power but is it a god? Or a group of people that perhaps guide us?

This is one of the biggest problems I have with NA folks. I've done a couple stints in rehab in the last 20 years. There are wonderful skills and tools to glean from this. It does more good than harm. But people will be stumped on Step 2 or 3 if they can't find that higher power. Sure, certain sponsors will glide a person through but it's false. I've never crested Step 4. Doc and others like to call me an addict or a drunk, but who among us has walked this path. I drink a 1/4 of what I once did but if I don't buy in to the Holy Jesus, I'm a fucktard. Very nice.

Someone may not share your beliefs....doesn't make them a garbage person.
Who is piling on because people aren't beating the drum for the Bible????
You dont think there are a few hard core right wingers here who rise and fall with the BabyJesus? You're smarter than that Mëds. Topper and doc are big league bible thumpers. Danny is too baked to care he just nods with the arm in his ass.
I know Doc claims to be.

Topper doesn't.....he's just a hardcore pragmatist who sits on the right side of the aisle.

I also don't see them bringing the bible into their political comments.

You stagger in here drunk as a skunk calling Topper (of all people) a Bible-thumper

.... claiming that Chef The Abuser is being abused.

And pretty much insult everyone in the OF and those who run it...

Listen, Blobert, buddy, forget rehab for now, focus on detox. Image

But hey, thanks for not "lighting me up" kind sir.

Blobby old man... I am not religious at all. I was raised Catholic but in my personal opinion (which I rarely forward) it's a bunch of crap

But

I don't belittle anyone else who does. It's their business. I know plenty of intelligent, same folks who choose to believe in it and I don't get into debates with them on it as it's a deeply personal opinion which shouldn't be challenged unless asked.

No arm up my ass. I just don't understand why you're so adversarial on shit. I figured you enjoyed it which you clearly do not

The guy is a creep. It's not about religion. He has such a passive aggressive personality which has worn thin after decades I guess. Even over the years where he has terrorized people off the board, and had several "epic battles" with folks ; the guy will never own a typing error or a mistake.

It's shitty because he has a great sense of humor, but he's such a miserable prick now in his 70's that he seems to get enraged with anyone that doesn't agree with his views.

Yup.

Doc - the classic Villain Protagonist. The antagonist in sheep’s clothing. It’s his schtick, always has been, to incite this so called “inappropriate” behaviour in others, brings it out in them then claims to be innocent in all of it, yet he’s always at the heart of it…hmmmmmm, it’s a bullshit act and everyone knows it.

William The Orange has been liitering these boards with his pro Trumpy Poo views to a sickening death. Not everyone is Pro Trump around here and that is the exact reason why Doc continues with it endlessly in the manner that he does, to draw you out into a fight, he’s a supreme prick and a hypocrite because as we know, that isn’t what “Jesus Christ” is about but we know how the fuck his philosophy has been butchered over the years. Yes Chef is guilty of spewing his atheist beliefs, but it’s simply “a back at you” to Doc countering his non stop Trump bullshit. Maybe we should all stop shitting on these boards with our opinions on religion and politics because as we know, like politics, we don’t all share the same views. Religion and Politics are two of the same, in the same shit pile, and as the saying goes - “one should never discuss his views on religion and politics” - as not everyone agrees, unless you can be pragmatic about it in which we know Doc ain’t being, we know why he does it, it’s the same exact reason why Chef shares his views on religion “to antagonize Doc”. In the end both are guilty as charged.

To be honest the fact that he’s a mod here is the major problem, gives the board a black eye, big time. It’s not a good look. Maybe improve your behaviour Doc - the mod. Be an example, FFS. But hey, keep on deflecting the blame, it’s what you do, how you roll - “who meeeeeee????”. Let’s see if you can get this board down to under 10 active members with your all so welcoming and fair moderating of “the discussion”.
