So it looks like Seabrook is in the block and rumour has it prefers to come home and play for Van.
He doesnt really fit our blueprint but heres a pipe dream for ya SKYO...would you consider sending them Loui at full cap hit to take BS with a significant portion retained?

He has two extra years on top of Louie. I say fuck it. See what you can do to get Louie to retire or terminate. Seabrook has too many years left. Who knows if there will be buyouts in the next CBA? A lot of dreamers think the cap will rise to 100 million but I can’t see that for a while. The economy is in the toilet, tickets are a fortune and it’s a gate driven league.

Dubas needs defencemen for next season. Seabrook is probably a defensive upgrade to anything they have right now.
Does he have anymore 1st rounders to trade?
Thoughts, Tuna?

Well, Seabrook can retire with no cap recapture.
But I'm not convinced the solution to Loui is taking back a bad contact.

What say you! for the sake of discussion.
Seabs with 30% retention cap hit for us would be $4.815M x 4 more years.
They'd have to take Eriksson full cap $6M x 2 more years + Stecher.
They'd have to give up a 2020 1st (top 5 lotto protected) or the 2021 1st, which could be a nice juicy pick at that.
We'd just have to use Seabrook like the Kings did with Willie Mitchell on a solid 3rd pairing, you get Seabrook in a more limited role with a young energetic team and that could revitalize him.
Edler - Myers
Hughes - Tanev
Benn - Seabrook
Next year:
Edler - Myers
Hughes - Seabrook
Juolevi - Benn
Q seems to make his dmen play phenomenally better, from L. Schenn to Tanev and I wonder how the former 40-49pt per Seabrook would do with Q?
But Benning likely finds a way to dump Eriksson next summer. as his salary is dirt cheap versus his cap hit.

Hughes makes everything look easy at high tempo. The kid will go down as the greatest Canuck defenceman of all time!

Thats the spirit SKYO!
Honestly there isnt much incentive for us to absorb that aweful contract...even if they eat all of Loui's and retain 30% of seebs. The first coming back would have to be in play and i just cant see the cocks doing that.
Meh...we came, we considered...and we flushed
