He might make the team, but right now I'm expecting...

Edler - Tanev
Hutton - Gudbranson
Sbisa - Stecher
Pedan - Biega

Coach Green says Pedan is NHL-ready!

Little Ellis is on fire for the preds, that tiny guy.

Canucks Green should bring up Jordan Subban for 2017/18 season and see what he can do in the bigs, if anything build up his trade value, asset management.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Yes, especially the latter part.
But Subban is not ready yet.

And he's not waivers-eligible for another year.

Leave him on the farm for another year and then perhaps do as you say.

Dudes' gonna be like 40 years old next year, it's do or die for him, and I think he'll surprise the masses if given the chance next year, Jordan Subban is much better prepared for a NHL gig (age/experience wise) than Juolevi at this point.

If we trade Edler or Tanev out, a Sbisa(if not chosen in expansion) - Subban 3rd pairing can form.

Two full years in the AHL, successful ones at that for Subban, I'd say he's ready, Green will have trust in him and fully know his ability.

drink some coffee and wake up from the fantasy...

Subban didn't make the NHL because he sucked. Its not that he was 'held back' or 'not given an opportunity'.. our defence had more holes in it than the World War 2 Japanese Navy.. he sucked so much he COULDNT MAKE THE TEAM despite the injuries and vacancies.. we lost over Two Hundred man games on defence and he STILL couldn't make the team...

To hope he has a sudden influx of talent and leaps up the depth chart to make the team next year is more delusional than Trudeau hoping a tax will fix the carbon problem...

Him coming up wont add to his trade value, just expose him worse than being buried in the minors.

Sorry to cut this particular fantasy off so early before the truly inspired rabble rousing could commence, but a little dose of reality needs to be injected here once in a while.

Willie Desjardins is my rebuttle.

I win.

...Subban wasn't in any plans for Willie's team at all, it was clear from the get go, as we didn't even get to see Subban in preseason/exhibition iirc, as I was hoping to see him play in action.

They made it abundantly clear that Subban was going to play in Utica for the entire year, no looks, no slack, no nothing.
September 2016:
Camp Cuts: Canucks cut Jordan Subban, also 11 other guys
The diminutive dynamic defenceman didn't play a pre-season game.

It is surprising, however, to see Subban get cut, mainly because it means he won’t see any pre-season action with the Canucks.

It has to be disappointing for Subban, who was a standout at the Young Stars tournament in Penticton and is easily the most dynamic defenceman in the Canucks system.

http://www.vancourier.com/pass-it-to-bu ... rH1qZ.dpuf
So with that, willie wasn't having no part of Subban at all.

Travis Green on the other hand is a totally different scenario, he's known Subban all his pro career, no doubt in my mind he gets a way better shot at making this team, especially if we deal out a veteran.

Furthermore Subban doesn't bitch around like virtanen did, he says all the right things, works hard and knows what he needs to work on.
“I can’t get caught up in that,” said Subban. “I was obviously sent down for a reason, to work hard and become a better player and get called up. It’s just defending in my own zone and bringing the puck out a little bit more cleaner and more efficiently. Those are things I’ve really worked hard on and it’s good to see that I’m being rewarded with my game.

Subban didn’t mope about his demotion and there’s a noticeable maturity. His nine goals and 13 assists in 34 American Hockey League games have earned an all-star game invite and the Canucks’ fourth-round pick in the 2013 draft is back on the radar as a prospect who will eventually be ready for prime time.
Jan 2017: Subban has been having a stellar year offensively, ranking 10th among defencemen in the American League. The impressiveness of which is increased by the fact that the Comets are terrible offensively this season – Utica has scored just 74 goals this season, which is dead last in the AHL.

I must admit, I thought it peculiar, to say the least, that Jordan never saw any pre-season action. Two years running.
Even if they were pretty sure he wasn't in their plans to make the club, I recall there being a lot of fans that wanted to see him. Weird because even with the preseason being short, what's wrong with making a little extra revenue on ticket sales?
I know I wanted to get a look.

If we could morph bulldog Biega and his tenacity with baby PK's offensive gifts, into one player, well we would have a more evenly coloured giant.
The only HW the Canucks need

JPat is on board with that.

10 Things I'd like to see from the Canucks next season:

1) More Boeser (powerplay time no doubt, right shot)
2) Get Eriksson a playmaker, put in front of net on the powerplay
3) Virtanen bottom six role to muck it up.
4) Get Jordan Subban in the lineup, PK his bro sending video of Ellis.

7) Markstrom handed the reigns for this rebuilding squad.
8) Get Alex Edler to waive his NTC.
9) New special teams (29th powerplay, 28th penalty kill) unacceptable.

Too many runts on the team already, trade Subban at the draft.

Edler - Tanev
Hutton - Gudbranson
Sbisa - Stecher
Pedan - Biega

One more year in Junior for Juolevi...

I want to increase the muscle and he-man size on this team as much as the next guy, but alas if given a possible Ryan Ellis/Krug/Barrie/Spurgeon type dman on our bottom pairing on one of the worst points stats defense in the league, we are going to have to explore this back-to-back 35+ pts in the AHL dman.

And if we are going with Travis Green's mission statement: Score more goals!
Subban should be on the bottom pairing.

Edler - Stecher
Hutton - Gudbranson
(Cheap UFA vet) - Subban
Pedan - Bulldog.

Those are our 3 QB's to transition out of the d-zone and help with the attack up front, plus Subban gives QB injury depth to the team if Stecher gets hurt. QB's the new hottness in the league.

Surround those QB's with the tower of powers, with the lone veteran Edler, sign a cheap veteran for one year.

Tanev dealt in JB's first real big stamp-on-the-team hockey trade.

Yeahno, don't need 3, time to cash in on Subban's great AHL numbers + name.

Buh-bye Jordan!

Can't trade Tanev now that the Tree has defected...
