Kulich is the real deal. The Sabres have a lot of forwards at their arsenal to deal from. There is also centre/LW Wahlberg, drafted 39th overall in 2023 and LW - Isak Rosen drafted 14th overall in 2021

Mikko Rantanen and Jake Guentzel (now with Tampa) cost Carolina a total of:
0 - 1st round picks.
0 - of their top 4 prospects

Interesting read on Byram’s analytics, not overly glowing on his work in the D-zone. Interesting stuff to take in here. Bowen is an RFA at years end, I see this as a tough negotiation in that you may have a player who thinks highly of himself over what he actually brings to the rink by the analysis.

I think the centre piece of the deal has to be a player in their mid to late 20's, in your proposal you're asking for 2 centremen who might have 2nd line upsidide and who are both 20 year olds...
If its EP the conversation has to start with Tage Thompson, if its Miller then I can see the conversation starting with Cozens...
For me, Willanders development means that there is no interest in Byram who is an RFA on a near $4million contract...
Buffalo, for all of those 13 years missing the playoffs, its a bit shocking at how underwhelming their lineup is and how much $ they've given to their 1st overall draft picks which have made them almost impossible to deal...
$11 million to Dahlin and $8.3 to Power on max term deals?
And I wonder where Demko plays into trade talk? Would the team consider including him in an EP or JT deal?

MacKinnon, Makar, Rantanen and Landeskog obviously had nothing to do with it?
Anyhow, just found the faults in his game interesting. Sounds more like he’s a “good looking” player (the Billy Bean syndrome) but never really lives up to expectations. Not great but just OK.

Rikster, like you, I’m seeing Byram’s RFA status at season’s end and the negotiation challenges as a problem. He may view himself as a player worth much more than he actually is.
Been reading a ton of media reports on Cozens game right now and they are far from glowing.

Obviously the Chef is subject to relapses, but I think it's useful that he's trying.
Or even if he just really believes he's trying.
And kudos to Blob for mostly avoiding the bait.
If the Canucks organization were showing the same steady progress, I'd be a lot more sanguine about their prospects for building a team that QH would want to stay with by the time his contract expires.
