Communism is great if you are top of the food chain.

There are a lot of successful, happy people in China.

This I know from personal experience.

Tuckers tour of Russia when he interviewed Putin showed a good deal of the same.

I'm not blind nor do I need a lecture on Communism but let's not pretend all people living under these regimes are buried in a quagmire of desultory discontent.

... unless one is a big fan of freedom of religion.

Russia hasn't been a communist nation in decades.

(although I feel many of today's Russians may be commie sympathizers)

I'd say China has gone from communist to socialist over time.

Yeah this is fair...but for the purpose of the discussion at hand the Communistic line worked.

As far as the free comment goes I can only speak to China but the people I am tied to there have a good deal of money, a high end lifestyle and all in all are living pretty good lives doing whatever the fuck they want.

Yeah sure.

Would I want to live like that (arguments can be made I sort of do in a microcosm)...no, overall I don't.

But any suggestion that the overall populous living under the Xi regime are unhappy cowering in fear humans is not the whole story.

When China was truly communist, the people were absolutely oppressed to the max.

But that was many moons ago.

Most today are indeed still unhappy and cowering in fear under the Xi regime.

(especially the religious folk)

Of course the ones you come in contact with would tend to be the few that are thriving.

And they would be at risk of losing it all if they were to dare criticize their government.

So yeah, of course they would tell you they are happy as clams.

Ask your Chinese associates to criticize the government over there in any way, shape, or form.
