Outside of any lottery miracles the Canucks will be drafting between 8th and 12th somewhere. Blob has said all season they’d be drafting Top 3.

Players expected to go in that 8 to 12 area

- Soderstrom
- Broberg
- Newhook
- Kaliyev
- Caufield
- York
- Zegras
- Boldy
- Dach

Who we taking? York is another high skilled D-man, a bit bigger than Hughes, going to Hughes school next season. Caufield is this drafts DeBrincat (Blobs favourite - see his Gudbranson trade rants). These two could end up being sneaky steals of this draft

Top 7, gone by the time we pick

- Hughes
- Kakko
- Podkozlin
- Byram
- Cozens
- Turcotte
- Krebs

I don’t get the Dach love by some scribes. That being said, more respectable reports have him closer to just breaking the top 10 instead of the top 5. His molasses energy level and non hurried movement (think Gaunce) puts a massive red flag on him for me. Not too mention his numbers are not great while playing with good players

Im looking at Cozens as the sleeper pick in this draft. (obviously i dont have a fuckin real clue as I'm only reading these reports and watching highlight packs....havent seen any of them play)

Seems to be an emerging talent that might take a giant step after his draft year

Reagarding Cozens flaws I’ve read - over handles the puck, IQ is questionable and is lanky.

And just like that the Ducks, Sabres and Rangers are right behind the Canucks in the standings, and NYR + Sabres play tomorrow.

as of today, we are drafting 10th (8+2). With our favorable schedule, we could actually climb up the ladder and be drafting in that 13-16 range if we keep playing like we have..

Kirby Dach is this years Michael Rasmussen, Dach is just more talented imo 73pts right now, Ras had 55pts his draft yr.
Getzlaf his draft yr had 68pts - all the big 3 are WHL centers.

Ras was more a goal scoring type while both Dach & Getzlaf are better playmakers/passers, which is good for a humongous center, they can battle it out and make swift passes to setup their wingers.

All 3 will never win any skating races, but when push comes to shove it's nice to have some beef down the middle who can also provide scoring.
Kirby Dach - great combination of size, strength and puck skills … ‘offence first’ mentality … soft hands… good puck pursuit … quick stick … finds avail, ISS Hockey 2017

Yeah I think we are drafting closer to 10th when the dust settles, as I predicted. Blob predicted top 3 worst in the league. Blob is an angry poster

I couldn’t have predicted how horrible the bottom eight teams in the West have been. Not to mention a couple in the east who’ve been atrocious. I was pretty consistent with the Canucks being a bottom five team. Petey and the collapse of several teams are the main reasons they are bottom 10. Though some on the board probably think the Canucks modest improvement is due to a better fourth line.

Last year’s - 2018 bottom 10

1. Buffalo - improved. Currently 6th worst
2. Carolina - improved. 11th best record in NHL
3. Montreal - improved. 14th best record in NHL
4. Ottawa - as anticipated bottom 3 worst
5. Arizona - improved 19th best record in NHL
6. Detroit - as anticipated bottom 3 worst
7. Vancouver - currently 8th. Blob said top 3
8. Chicago - current 10th worst. Not shocked
9. NYR - current 5th worst. Tanking. Expected
10th Oilers - current 9th worst. Blob surprised?

Current 2019 top 10 worst

1. Ottawa - as expected
2. L.A. - been trending this way. Blob surprised
3. Detroit - blob surprised. 2018 6th worst
4. NJ - blob surprised. Been awful for awhile
5. NYR - major sellers, tankers. Blob surprised
6. Buffalo - blob surprised. 2018 picked 1st
7. Anaheim - trending this way. Blob surprised
8. Canucks - Blob said top 3. Currently 8th
9. Edmonton - same as last year.,Blob surprised
10. Chicago - same as last year

Blob, your thoughts?

Everyone but you knew that L.A. And Anaheim were trending badly. Old and done. But Blob surprised

NYR major tanker, sellers. Blob surprised

New Jersey - see Buffalo and Edmonton. Consistently bad for awhile. Had a hiccup good year last year, but are we surprised? Blob is

Carolina, Arizona and Montreal much improved

Wasn't much to predict, other than Montreal, Arizona and Carolina improving as much as they have. Even if you refuse to predict the predictable like NYR (Sellers), LA (trending horribly), Anaheim (trending horribly) the UNPREDICTABLE improvement of Montreal, Carolina and Arizona (all ahead of us in the 2018 draft) would cancel out those 3 'impossible to predict" teams - L.A., NYR and L.A. wouldn't they?

So in summary, with the Canucks poised to finish somewhere around the 10th worst record in the NHL, Blob, according to your prediction "a bottom 3 finish" then you NOW must consider them to be vastly improved and trending in the right direction according to your failed prediction? Yeah no?

They are on pace to improve by a half dozen points or so. If you look back I predicted 78-84 points in multiple threads which is right where they will end up. A lot of tards legitimately thought they were going to make the playoffs.

Again who gives a fuck? The ass fell out of the conference. You see it as some massive progress and wonderful season. I see the entire half of the conference playing poor.

Only the Ducks and Kings digressed in which even the brainless could have predicted since both those teams are at the worst point in the curve where they haven't hit bottom yet but are heading there.

Arizona and Calgary have improved.

Winnipeg, Nashville, St. Louis, Las Vegas, San Jose we all knew were going to be good teams

Chicago are exactly where anticipated, along with Edmonton, Minnesota, Colorado all hovering around .500 hockey.

Improving even with just 6 points, in an injury riddled season, the first Season with no Sedins should be considered - heading in the right direction, but more importantly a team that smashed (no Sedins, injuries) Blob's expectations (Bottom 3 finish Blob predicted).
